WrestleMania 28: Can The Rock Have a Classic in First 1-on-1 Bout in 9 Years?
The Rock can electrify like no other and we know that this will be his first one-on-one bout in nine years.
Many are wondering how he will hold up against a guy who has been wrestling for 10 years straight without a proper break.
The Rock has been away from the ring for quite a while now, but one must assume his training has been hard and ruthless, meaning not only will he put on a great show, but he will electrify like we all know he can.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Ring rust may be a factor though. I have never wrestled before so I couldn’t possibly say, but I’m not sure the art of wrestling is like riding a bike.
I think it can probably be hard for some people to get back into it. I’m not saying that The Rock will perform like The Great Khali, but he may not be 100 percent in terms of working the match—that may be left up to Cena for the most part.
Cena is experienced enough to carry the match tonight if need be. His experience is so vast that any amount of ring rust The Rock has will likely go unnoticed thanks to the work Cena will put in to making this the greatest WrestleMania main event in recent history.
On a positive note, at Survivor Series 2011, The Rock proved he still has it—proved by the crowd who chanted it during his tag match with Cena.
Though seeing him in the ring was refreshing and exciting, he really didn’t spend that long wrestling. There was no opportunity to see if The Rock needed to work on any areas during that main event.
The Rock is indeed one of the greatest performers to ever grace a WWE ring, and taking that into consideration, it is pretty much a given that he will have a classic match with Cena. However, with the amount of hype surrounding the long-awaited main event, can it live up to expectation, or will it fall short?
I think Cena knows that he and The Rock must put on a five-star classic so as not to be eclipsed by any of the other three main events. Triple H vs. The Undertaker in Hell in a Cell is an extremely strong contender for doing this.
To overcome it, The Rock and John Cena must make the year-long wait worth it, and have a match for the ages.
With rumours circulating that Brock Lesnar may be making an appearance at WrestleMania 28, this leads me to believe that he may interfere in this match and The Rock will have his main event for next year.
But would it spoil a classic match?
Or would it add to it?
It would depend on how Lesnar interfered and when he interfered. If he interferes after the match and lays them both out, then it would be fine, but it is a risky business interfering in a match that has had so much hype surrounding it.
I think it is safe to say, the odds are in The Rock’s favour for putting on a classic match with Cena. If he does, it will cement him as a superstar that has not lost it, who can still go and who is still very skilled at his craft.
Enjoy it.
