WrestleMania 28 Matches: Most Likely Resolutions to Undertaker vs. Triple H

Mike ChiariJun 7, 2018

One thing that many have said regarding the "End of an Era" Hell in a Cell match between The Undertaker and Triple H at WrestleMania XXVIII is that they're hoping for a clean finish.

With Shawn Michaels as the special guest referee, though, it's a given that he will have some type of involvement that has a huge impact rather than being an impartial judge.

I don't have any problem with it, as Michaels is my all-time favorite performer, he has a well-documented history with both men and he could go in any number of different directions. There is a great deal of unpredictability with this match, and that is one reason why it will be so great.

Here are three possible ways that the third in a triumvirate of WrestleMania matches between The Undertaker and Triple H could end.

HBK Tries to Help Triple H, but Triple H Intervenes

There are many things that could happen in this match, but the most likely in my mind involves Triple H rejecting Shawn Michaels' help. At some point, Taker will be staggering to his feet and Michaels will begin to tune up the band for Sweet Chin Music.

Just as it looks like HBK is going to connect, Triple H will intervene. This will either result in Hunter getting hit with Sweet Chin Music himself, or Hunter and Shawn getting into an argument after which Triple H will walk right into a Tombstone Piledriver.

Michaels will then reluctantly count his best friend's shoulders to the mat and the streak will be extended to 20-0.

This will create a great deal of tension between Triple H and Michaels, as Hunter will feel as though Michaels cost him the match, while HBK will feel like Triple H's refusal robbed them both of a chance to end The Undertaker.

HBK Helps Undertaker Retain Streak

Over the past few weeks, the creative team has done a nice job of forming a divide between Michaels and Triple H. This has created a great deal of uncertainty with regards to how HBK might act at WrestleMania.

That was exacerbated when Undertaker said Michaels was better than Triple H, prompting a wry smile to form on HBK's face.

My gut feeling is that Michaels will at least try to help Triple H, but there is always that possibility that he will go the other way. Last year, I felt quite strongly that Michaels would shock the world by helping Undertaker since it was a no-disqualification match, but that didn't come to fruition.

It wouldn't be as shocking this time around since the seeds have been planted, but it's still hard to believe that Michaels could screw over his best friend.

In this scenario, it could be explained by saying that Michaels was jealous of Hunter's opportunity and that he didn't want anyone but himself to end the streak.

HBK Helps Triple H End Undertaker's Streak

I would be shocked, speechless and so much more if The Undertaker's streak were to end on Sunday, but you just never know what could happen in the WWE.

Throughout this process, both The Undertaker and Triple H have talked about ending each other, and if one of those two men were never to have another match, my money would be on Taker to be that guy.

Because of that, there is a small possibility that Triple H could beat him and send him off for all eternity. If that were to be the case, then Triple H would accept help from Shawn Michaels. At some point in the match, Triple H will be dominating but unable to put The Deadman away, so he'll look to Michaels for help.

HBK will oblige, and although it will take a great deal of effort, they will finally put Taker to rest. This probably wouldn't be the most popular ending, and I really don't anticipate it happening over the other two that I mentioned, but it would provide the shock value that many wrestling fans crave.
