English Premier League Betting Guide: 10 Weekend Winners to Make You Money

Michael CummingsMar 29, 2012

Another weekend of football means another chance to make money.

This week I'm focusing on the English Premier League. Over the next 10 slides I'll give you tips for all 10 matches scheduled for this weekend.

Newcastle host Liverpool on Sunday in the marquee matchup of the weekend, but every game should have plenty of intriguing action.

Let's get right to it.

Aston Villa-Chelsea

1 of 10

When: Saturday, 10 a.m. Eastern

It's hard to get a read on Chelsea right now.

The Blues won midweek at Benfica in the Champions League, but they've picked up one league point out of the last six available.

Aston Villa, meanwhile, have been awful. They're 15th and only eight points above the drop zone.

This game is hard to call, so go with a draw. Ladbrokes is offering 9/5 odds on Villa to win or draw with two or fewer goals scored in the match.

Everton-West Brom

2 of 10

When: Saturday, 10 a.m. Eastern

Both teams have shown decent form lately, but Everton have been strong at home.

Blue Square gives 5/1 odds on Everton winning 1-0, and 6/1 on Everton winning 2-0.

Fulham-Norwich

3 of 10

When: Saturday, 10 a.m. Eastern

This feels like a goal-fest to me. Combined, these teams have allowed 88 goals this season in 60 matches.

Ladbrokes lists Fulham to win with three or more goals scored in the match at 15/8.

Manchester City-Sunderland

4 of 10

When: Saturday, 10 a.m. Eastern

Manchester City are still perfect at home. Can they make it 16 out of 16?

I don't see why not. Sunderland have lost eight of their 15 road matches this season.

I like Blue Square's 16/5 odds on City to win by two goals.

QPR-Arsenal

5 of 10

When: Saturday, 10 a.m. Eastern

This one feels like a trap game. Arsenal are rolling, but QPR recently upset Liverpool.

Arsenal's away form has been spotty (seven wins, two draws, six defeats), and Blue Square's 9/2 odds on a QPR win look tempting.

But I'll go with their 14/5 odds on zero or one goal in the match.

Wigan-Stoke

6 of 10

When: Saturday, 10 a.m. Eastern

These two teams have combined for 18 draws this season. Why not another?

Sky Bet lists a draw at 23/10.

Wolves-Bolton

7 of 10

When: Saturday, 10 a.m. Eastern

Bolton have won their last two matches by the score of 2-1, with both coming against fellow relegation candidates (Blackburn and QPR).

Wolves are bottom of the table and they've won only three times at home all year.

Bolton are playing for Fabrice Muamba right now, which means they're playing inspired.

William Hill lists Bolton at 15/8 to win outright.

Newcastle-Liverpool

8 of 10

When: Sunday, 8:30 a.m. Eastern

Feeling frisky? Sky Bet lists Andy Carroll at 7/1 to score first.

A wiser bet might be 12/5 on a draw.

Spurs-Swansea

9 of 10

When: Sunday 11 a.m. Eastern

Adventure-seekers will like Ladbrokes' 7/1 odds on Swansea to win.

I like 10/3 at draw/home in the half-time/full-time betting.

Blackburn-Manchester United

10 of 10

When: Monday, 3 p.m. Eastern

Blackburn won at Old Trafford the last time these teams met. Expect United to redeem themselves Monday night, and to take the lead early.

William Hill gives 4/1 odds on Manchester United winning the first half and drawing the second half.
