Michael DixonJun 7, 2018

With three title matches on the card and WrestleMania less than a week away, it is time to take a strong look at how the WWE itle scene will look after Wrestlemania. That is exactly what we're doing here.

Via the WWE.com, we can see the following title matches currently scheduled for Miami.

Champion ChallengerTitle
Cody Rhodes   Big ShowIntercontinental Title
Daniel BryanSheamusWorld Heavyweight Title
CM PunkChris Jericho    WWE Title

Those are the matches, so let's see how they will finish.

Cody Rhodes vs. Big Show

Cody Rhodes needs to get the Intercontinental Title off of his belt and move on to chasing one of the two world titles. Conversely, The Big Show has done more than enough for the WWE and the business in general to deserve a WrestleMania win.

It does absolutely no harm to Rhodes to have The Big Show go over here. Rhodes is an established name who's already been in title matches, so he stays in the Main Event scene one way or the other. The Big Show is an undeniable Main Eventer as well, but a win from him makes more sense.

Again, his WrestleMania record is dismal, which has been the focal point of their feud. He deserves the moment, and the belt needs to come off of Rhodes. This is a perfect time for a change.

Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus

This is a genuinely great feud in that this match is tough to predict, but I am going with the champ to retain in this one.

Bryan has made his title reign by beating some of these massive men like Mark Henry and The Big Show. A great part of his heel turn is that he does whatever it takes to win, and as annoying as that is, the belt remains around his waist.

Sheamus is another big man and comes into this event red-hot. Having Bryan somehow find a way to pull this would would be a perfect way to continue building his momentum. I have no problem with Sheamus eventually earning the Heavyweight Championship, but that can wait for another PPV.

CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho

I've previously written that CM Punk deserves this WrestleMania moment, standing tall in the ring with his arm raised, holding the WWE Championship. Nothing has changed here, and it also makes good sense.

Punk has been a strong champion, and he's had that belt for a long time. Something that the WWE sorely lacks in this era are lengthy title reigns, which Punk is in the midst of building.

Also remember that this is a relatively untapped feud. Yes, we had Jericho and Punk do battle in the Elimination Chamber, but there's plenty of room for a rematch after this.

Both of these men are established stars and will survive a loss, but Punk needs it a lot more than Jericho. It makes sense to have a passing-of-the-torch moment here, with the younger champion retaining his title.
