Fantasy Baseball Rankings 2012: Infielders Who Will Have Monster Seasons
Don't botch the first pick in your draft. You have to have a person that will go out and reliably produce big numbers. It is the foundation of your team.
Here are three infielders that are all worth a first-round selection and will not disappoint.
Miguel Cabrera, 1B, Tigers

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Cabrera is going to be even more valuable than last year because he is likely going to gain third-base eligibility to go with the first base.
And he is going to produce. There is nothing fluky about his numbers. Last season, Cabrera hit .344 with 30 home runs, and these are numbers he can sustain.
He has improved his contact rate every season since 2007. Cabrera isn't going to give you anything on the bases, but with his stick, he doesn't have to to be a great selection.
Albert Pujols, 1B, Angels
You may have heard about this guy before. He is starting to put together a pretty decent career. Pujols is as reliable of an elite player as you could ever hope to find.
If you are worried that the switch in leagues will hurt him, stop that nonsense immediately.
Pujols has played 143 games against the American League and had 541 at-bats in those games. He hit a tidy .348 with 39 homers, 121 RBI and104 runs. You'd be happy with that, right?
Robinson Cano, 2B, Yankees
In a position where there is very little in the way of big-time fantasy production, Cano is a beast.
He is coming off a season where he hit .302 and had 28 home runs. He can definitely sustain that level of production. The guy is a .308 career hitter and has hit at least 25 home runs in each of his last three seasons.
Cano plays in a hitter-friendly park, and he will get plenty of RBI and runs in that Yankee lineup.
