WrestleMania 28: Why Chris Jericho Deserves to Pummel CM Punk
It may not be the match WWE is promoting the hardest, but make no mistake: Chris Jericho vs. CM Punk is going to be the most exciting match of the night.
Jericho has slowly returned to his normal self since his bizarre silent treatment in January to fall right back into the fun, brash, and dominating force he has always been.
Punk is the current title holder of “Best in the World” with his WWE championship belt, but it’s getting old. He is becoming almost untouchable and that makes for some less-than-exciting outcomes.

That’s why it’s Jericho’s turn.
Ringsidenews.com recently reported that Jericho has signed the paperwork to stick with the WWE until at least the end of the summer. That means win or lose, Y2J isn’t going anywhere.
The 41-year-old has been involved in professional wrestling since 1990, making him one of the longest-tenured wrestlers ever to step foot into the ring.
He has poured his heart and soul into the craft by spending endless amounts of hours training and risking the well-being of his own body to entertain his rabid fan base.
Few, if any, wrestlers have displayed the devotion and dedication that has been shown by Jericho. Some may think his tactics to poke fun at the history of substance abuse in Punk’s family are below-the-belt, but it has created a real feud.
The Rock and John Cena don’t hate each other—they are two movie stars that are pretending. But if you saw Monday Night Raw this week, you saw extremely raw emotion from Punk and a genuine urge to crush Jericho’s skull.
That’s exactly what fans want to see.
Punk has enjoyed the belt since Halloween and that is simply too long for a champ.
The longevity of Jericho needs to be rewarded. If the creative team is smart they’ll have Jericho win, setting up another few months of battle between the two.
This is going to be an epic battle, but let’s hope Jericho wins and the feud can continue to evolve.
