2012 NFL Free Agents: Power Ranking Best Remaining Offensive Players

Richard LangfordJun 7, 2018

The offensive NFL free agents have been pretty well picked over, but there are still a few players out there that can make an impact on whatever team they land with.

Below are the four best remaining unrestricted free agents on the offensive side of the ball. I did not include the restricted free agents because it is unlikely they will be changing teams.

Demetrius Bell, OT

Bell is a solid left tackle when he can play. He was playing at a high level at left tackle for the Bills last season. Then he injured his shoulder in Week 4 and did not play again until Week 15.

He promptly injured his knee in Week 16 and missed the finale.

Bell is just 27 years old. He moves his feet well and is a good blind side protector. However, he has serious durability concerns.

Marcus McNeil, OT

Like Bell, McNeil, 28, has durability concerns. His are a bit more serious though. He injured his neck in Week 10 last season and was not able to return.

Teams will have to give him a thorough physical before committing to him. If he can return to his previous form, he will be a solid starting left tackle.

He is a strong man that can punish defensive linemen in the run game and moves his feet well enough to handle the speed rushers trying to attack the QBs blindside.

Jerricho Cotchery, WR

Cotchery, 29, should not be considered a starting wide receiver, but he is solid in the slot and on third downs.

He has excellent concentration going over the middle and has no problem making catches in traffic. He also runs very precise routes.

He is coming off of a down year in Pittsburgh, but never really got a chance to produce. He is still a fine third down option.

Cedric Benson, RB

Benson will be arriving at the place NFL running backs meet their demise. He will turn 30 during the next season.

Clearly, he is not going to be a long-term answer. But he still has some carries left in the tank.

Benson has gone over 1,000 yards in three straight seasons. He runs hard and he runs straight ahead. He rarely loses yards on a carry.

He is a dependable back that will pick up tough yards.
