NFL Rumors: Why Bill Parcells Is Perfect Replacement for Sean Payton with Saints
Bill Parcells is the perfect replacement for Sean Payton as the New Orleans Saints' head coach while Payton serves his one-year suspension handed down by the NFL for his role in the team's bounty program over the last few years.
Even though it's no sure thing that Parcells will take over the team, he is at least meeting with the Saints on Tuesday.
ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that Parcells will meet today with Payton and Saints General Manager Mickey Loomis about potentially becoming the interim head coach.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The Saints' situation is ideal for Parcells because he only has to come in and coach for for about 10 to 12 months before he can leave the team.
At age 70, Parcells isn't likely to want to coach on a multi-year term, but if he could take over a Super Bowl-contending team with an elite quarterback for just a season, I think he would really consider it.
Parcells hasn't been a head coach since the 2006 season with the Dallas Cowboys. Since then he has been the vice president of football operations for the Miami Dolphins and is currently an NFL analyst on ESPN.
When he was with the Cowboys, Parcells had a team not ready to compete for a Super Bowl and one without a top-tier quarterback. Parcells' job with the Saints will be much easier than if he were on a team such as the Dolphins because he won't have to work with his quarterback all that much.
Drew Brees is a veteran, an intelligent player, a champion and a quarterback with a full understanding of the offense. He won't need much guidance from the Parcells.
The fact of the matter is that the Saints need a proven leader and a no-nonsense coach who will motivate the players but can still excel from an X's and O's standpoint. Parcells is that kind of coach. He's a proven leader and the players will immediately respect him.
Parcells is one of the best head coaches in NFL history and is an ideal short-term replacement for the Saints. With just a one-year commitment and the luxury of inheriting an elite team with a great quarterback, Parcells has no reason to say no to the Saints coaching job if offered the position.
