4 Fighters Who Would Love a Shot at Chael Sonnen

It's official. Chael Sonnen will face off against Anderson Silva for the middleweight title at UFC 147 in Brazil.

Sonnen has been incredibly outspoken in his path to get a second shot at Silva, and he was also pretty darn outspoken en route to their first fight.

Sonnen has enraged and endeared himself to everybody from fans to fighters and has generated mass interest in the upcoming fight.

With that in mind, let's take a look at four fighters who would love a shot at Chael Sonnen.

Wanderlei Silva

Wanderlei Silva and Chael Sonnen have exchanged numerous barbs in the media and via Twitter, and Silva wants a shot at Sonnen.

There was even a time when they ended up in the same car, and Wanderlei attempted to tell Sonnen about respect and such.

Sonnen didn't seem to have taken it to heart, and Wanderlei surely wants to get him for that.

Mirko Cro Cop

Cro Cop had harsh words for Sonnen,

"You can tell by his face that the man is slow, that he is stupid and has the IQ of a child's shoe size. You can tell this by his face, the way he communicates and let's not get into his calling out of people like 'Minotauro' Nogueira, Fedor's accomplishments or Wanderlei Silva's, me, so on. People whose heights he will never reach. Is he crazy? Obviously he is, but I'm not mad at him. It's just as I can't get mad at my eight month old son Filip. That man holds a PhD in idiocy. I'm only sorry that he is missing like 30 pounds because I would beat his ass so bad he would multiply three times. In anger I would beat him up so bad that I would split him apart. I would clone him into three specimens. One day I'm hoping to see him summering in Croatia, so I can iron his ass, so steam can shoot out his pompous ass. That's what he needs to know."

Of course Sonnen had a response, saying "Mirko, ol' buddy! Strong words from someone who's been carried out more often than Chinese food!" and "Pipe down Mirko and let us just use you for oil like the rest of the dinosaurs."

Lyoto Machida

Lyoto Machida has said that he wants a fight with Chael Sonnen, but it never came to fruition.

Before Sonnen made his return fight against Brian Stann, it was heavily rumored that he would face Machida. However, when that didn't happen, Sonnen had something to say, "I ask Brazil for a fight, and Machida answers.I ask for a REAL fight, and a Marine steps up.I see you hiding Lyoto, and I won't forget this."

Sonnen has also said such things as "Machida is a gentleman. MMA is very cutthroat, and it's sweet that Lyoto promised to never fight his girlfriend Anderson. That's devotion."

Machida would love a chance to take out Sonnen.

Vitor Belfort

Without a doubt, this is the most possible fight of any on this list.

Vitor Belfort and Chael Sonnen have gone back and forth on multiple occasions, and one of the most memorable of their comments about the other happened at the UFC 136 post-fight press conference, where Chael said,

"Maybe you can give Vitor a couple of messages for me, first off, if my name comes out of his mouth again, I will bury him where he stands, and second off, tell Vitor to meet me at the hotel in 30 minutes cause daddy's got a plane to catch and I'm summoning him to carry my luggage."

Should both fighters win their next matches, this one could happen, and Vitor could get a chance to take out "The Gangster from Oregon," Chael Sonnen.
