Could Brad Keselowski Be Any More Excited for His 2009 Season?

Mary Jo BuchananJan 16, 2009

Brad Keselowski had a stellar racing season in 2008, finishing third in points in the Nationwide series and notching his first win at Nashville.  But even with that success under his belt, young Brad cannot wait for the 2009 season to get underway.

"I'm just so excited to get back to the track," said Keselowski on Sirius Speedway today.  And with all the depressing news lately in the sport, Brad's enthusiasm and excitement is truly a breath of fresh air.

So, what's got Keselowski's blood pumping for the 2009 season?

Fan Fest:  Brad shared that he is most excited to head off tomorrow to Daytona for the Fan Fest celebration.

Keselowski is scheduled to join a very popular driver group on Jan. 17 from 4-8 p.m.  Other drivers who will appear during that session will be Marcos Ambrose, the ever-popular Dale Earnhardt Jr., Michael Waltrip, Kevin Harvick, and Truck Series Champion Ron Hornaday.

Nationwide Championship Run:  With his great finish to last year's Nationwide season, Brad is totally committed to and convinced that he can make a run in his No. 88 JR Motorsports Chevy for the series championship.

Sprint Cup Run:  Keselowski is also excited to run seven races in the Cup series in 2009 under the Hendrick Motorsports banner.  Brad is set to drive the No. 25 development/test car for this limited schedule.

Keselowski will be sponsored by GoDaddy.com and will be crew chiefed by the veteran Lance McGrew in this fifth Hendrick car.

He is racing only seven races so that he will still be eligible to run for Rookie of the Year when he does graduate to a full-time ride in the Cup series.

Brad is scheduled to run his Cup car in Las Vegas, Texas, Darlington, Dover, Chicago, Michigan, and Kansas.  This schedule comes out to about a once-a-month run for this young driver.

Keselowski is really looking forward to going to his home track in Michigan and racing with the big boys.  He also revealed that the seven chosen tracks are combinations of ones that are good for him, as well as ones where he truly needs more seat time.

Most important, Brad was excited to run with this small team, as they would have lost their jobs but for this deal being secured.

New Sponsors:  Keselowski expressed his excitement about working with all the new sponsors on his roster, including Unilever, Delphi and GoDaddy.com.  He shared that he now has 20 different fire suits because of the variety of sponsorships.

New Commercial:  Brad is also looking forward to the upcoming filming next week of his new commercial for GoDaddy.com.  And yes, it involves those GoDaddy girls, sure to start this young man's engines.

New Room Display:  Keselowski also revealed that he was most excited about getting his fire suit from Nashville, where he experienced his first Nationwide win, framed and hung up in his house.  He advised that it is positioned right next to the guitar, the coveted "trophy" for that race track winner.

All in all, Brad Keselowski couldn't be more excited to get going in the new season.  With all that he has going for him, he most assuredly feels like he is on top of the world and ready to take that green flag in Daytona in just a few short weeks.
