WWE Raw Preview: What Needs to Happen on the Final Raw Before WrestleMania?
This is a really crucial Raw. It's the final televised event before WrestleMania—considering there's probably another Fan Axxess special for SmackDown. This is the Raw that puts everything together.
Last year, there were pretty negative thoughts centered around Triple H vs. Undertaker—nobody cared. Until this very Raw last year, Shawn Michael's famous walkout on Hunter made the majority that much more excited for the feud.
This year, nobody really cares for Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan. If booked right tonight, we might just be able to have the slightest interest.
You know, here's what some people think when us fans criticize WWE's booking or we offer our own insight:
"You think you can book better than the entire WWE creative team?
"
Well my answer is, yes. I think I can book better than the creative team—and if I can't, it doesn't hurt to try.
Kelly Kelly and Maria Menounos vs. Beth Phoenix and Eve
1 of 10According to The New York Post, Maria has suffered a broken rib so the match might not even happen.
This match isn't a priority, though, so WWE shouldn't worry about this unless they have extra time.
If they do, just have Phoenix and Eve harass Kelly a little physically.
Again, though, this isn't a priority so spend a minimal amount of time on this.
Cody Rhodes vs. Big Show
2 of 10The story of this rivalry is pretty much established, and they really can't make us more excited for the match than they already have—unless they put on some fancy stipulation.
If you want to have Rhodes test Show's anger more with a beat-down, that might be entertaining. If WWE wants to release some of Show's anger on another wrestler to intimidate Rhodes, that'd be alright too.
The feud can't really take a downwards step, at this point; it's already pretty established.
Randy Orton vs. Kane
3 of 10WWE already screwed this feud up with all the RKOs WWE laid upon the "Big Red Monster," Kane.
It doesn't matter what they do with this tonight. If Kane gets more momentum, it's not like it'll erase all the burying he's gotten in the past few weeks.
We all know Orton's going to win. Even the more casual fans have no doubt.
Team Johnny vs. Team Teddy
4 of 10I've been digging this feud and the traditional aspect of it.
WWE should continue doing what they've been doing with this. Have one or two matches with the members of each team—and, of course, the bickering general managerss. This is one of those feuds that are all-out fun. We need that sometimes.
And of course WWE needs to announce the final two participants. If I had to choose, my top choices for Team Teddy are Brodus Clay and Mick Foley.
For Team Laurinaitis, it'd only be fitting to give the spot to Laurinaitis' biggest supporter: himself.
Why not? We all want to see Laurinaitis compete.
The Undertaker vs. Triple H
5 of 10If we have another verbal segment, I'm going to puke.
I've thought of two scenarios for tonight:
1. Undertaker sends a message to Triple H by Tombstoning the special referee, Shawn Michaels.
2. Shawn Michaels hits a fun little Sweet Chin Music on Triple H after more dissension is caused between them. A smirking Shawn Michaels is celebrating as an angered Triple H—and an observant Undertaker—watches on.
The Miz
6 of 10Give Miz one more chance to earn a spot on Team Laurinaitis, and have him screw it up again.
I expect him to play a role in the probably overbooked WrestleMania main event with Rock and Cena.
Chris Jericho vs. CM Punk
7 of 10We need one more strong promo between the two.
End it with security breaking the two up—or breaking Punk up from Jericho.
The Rock vs. John Cena
8 of 10Against common opinion, we need some physical action tonight.
I'm not on CeNation nor am I a supporter of Team Bring It—I don't care for either's argument. Rocky can't come up with anything besides randomly labeling Cena, and Cena can't get over the fact that Rocky preferred to make millions of dollars a year in the movie business. But that's besides the point.
Having Cena Attitude Adjust Rocky would be too easy.
Rock needs to "layeth the smacketh down" on Cena tonight. And it needs to be out of anger—not sending a message.
Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus
9 of 10I've saved this for last because this is the most necessary thing to focus on tonight. They need to do something in order to actually provide us with a buildup.
It needs to involve AJ, Daniel Bryan, and Sheamus—as these three are the three this is centered around.
Have Bryan deliver a graphic beat-down to Sheamus as AJ begs Bryan not to do so.
Bryan pushes AJ aside as she begs him to stop. Bryan batters Sheamus against AJ's will.
Conclusion
10 of 10I know this may have been shorter than expected, but I don't want to go into fantasy mode—nor do I want to ramble on.
Hopefully the puppies in this slide will make up for the poor use of pictures throughout the rest of the slideshow.
I've hoped you enjoyed this. I will be providing a live blog tonight for Raw on EnigmaticWrestling.com—as I'll be doing for WrestleMania as well.
Comment on what you think should happen to build up the feuds tonight on Raw. Thanks for reading!
