Tim Tebow to New York Jets Press Conference: What to Expect

Mike MoraitisJun 1, 2018

The biggest press conference in the history of the NFL for a backup quarterback is about to take place in under an hour and Tim Tebow will be welcomed to his new home with the New York Jets.

So just what can we expect from this entirely awkward event?

Tons of media

From what I've been watching on ESPN's live Sportscenter coverage of the presser, the Jets have 80 chairs setup for media members and I'm sure there's going to be standing room as well.

We could be looking at over 100 media credentials being handed out and that officially makes this a Jets circus.

If you've had your filling of Tebowmania, you might not want to use the internet for a few days.

Questions about the starter

I fully expect questions to come up about Tebow and the possible starting job that is already taken by Mark Sanchez. We could very well see Tebow's intention to challenge for the starting job up close and personal.

That's where it gets awkward because as much as New York is calling him their backup, they are really treating him like the starter.

Let's just hope Sanchez isn't there or else this could get ugly.

Jets will get a black eye

The media is absolutely destroying Tebow's abilities or lack thereof and there aren't many good things to say about the people who brought him to New York.

This presser will make the Jets a running joke around the country with not only the media, but more importantly the fans of the team and the NFL as well.

If this doesn't work out, the Jets will have dug themselves in a huge credibility hole. That is, if they haven't done so already.

Mention of God

No Tim Tebow moment can be without God so I expect to see him be thankful for his opportunity with his new team.
