NHL Power Rankings: Updated Top 10 Teams

T.J. McaloonMar 25, 2012

The latest power rankings have a few surprises to them. No, the Columbus Blue Jackets haven’t made a shocking surge into this week’s rankings, but they did win their last game against Carolina.

Instead, this week’s rankings have some new teams, while we say goodbye to some others who had horrible weeks, New Jersey Devils.

However, there is still some areas for debate at the top, as some of you may think that the Pittsburgh Penguins should be the best team in the NHL right now since they have been dominating the NHL for a majority of March.

Then again, there are those people who want to see a team like the Los Angeles Kings reach the top 10 because of a great stretch of play that saw the Kings win seven out of their last 10 games. That surge vaulted them back into the Western Conference playoffs.

However, you would all be wrong, as none of those teams made it to the top, or bottom, of my power rankings for this week.

Give this a watch and let me know in the comment section who should have been higher, who should be lower and who was ranked just right.

(Note: Power rankings reflect standings and play through Saturday, March 24.)
