25 Past and Present NHL Stars Who Should Have Their Own Reality Show
The NHL has had many players, past and present, who have a personality that is perfect for a reality TV show.
NHL players love to have fun and pull pranks on each other, and many of them would probably be comfortable in a TV environment.
Let's look at 25 past and present players who should have their own reality show.
Wayne Gretzky
1 of 22What's it like being the "Great One?" I'm sure a lot of NHL fans would like to know the events of Wayne Gretzky's daily life and his views on the players and teams of today's game.
There's a lot of reality show possibilities for Gretzky.
Brad Marchand and Tyler Seguin
2 of 22Boston Bruins forwards Brad Marchand and Tyler Seguin partied pretty hard after winning the Stanley Cup last season and certainly have the young exuberance that is perfect for reality TV.
Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews
3 of 22Patrick Kane is really outgoing guy and for some reason I think he would be great on TV. His Chicago Blackhawks teammate Jonathan Toews is another young player with the TV makeup.
They have already done their own commercial together.
Ilya Bryzgalov
4 of 22Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov was the star of HBO's 24/7 series for the Winter Classic this year, and just has a personality perfect for TV.
He's not afraid of being on camera or letting his thoughts on certain topics be known, even if he's sounds crazy.
The guy compares his husky to a beautiful blonde—he's perfect for TV!
Alexander Ovechkin
5 of 22Alexander Ovechkin is a very outgoing player who loves to have a good time. As one of the biggest stars in the NHL, the league would certainly love to get Ovie on television more.
Phil Esposito
6 of 22Phil Esposito was part of the Boston Bruins teams of the 1970s that loved to have fun and party. He would have been hilarious on TV.
Sean Avery
7 of 22Whether you hate Sean Avery or not, I would bet a reality show starring him is something you would watch.
His personality and willingness to speak his mind make him a good candidate for TV.
Henrik Lundqvist
8 of 22New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist is perfect for TV. He has a great personality, always dresses well and has perfect hair. It doesn't get much better than that.
Scott Hartnell
9 of 22Philadelphia Flyers forward Scott Hartnell is having a career year this season, and was even named to the All-Star Game.
At the skills competition, we got to see Hartnell mic'd up and learned how fun he is to be around. He has a personality fit for TV.
Matthew Barnaby
10 of 22Matthew Barnaby was a fiery player throughout his career and played the game with a lot of passion. I think he would be great for a reality TV show because he is outgoing, upbeat and seems quite opinionated.
Ron Hextall
11 of 22Ron Hextall would have been perfect for reality TV if it was a big part of our culture in the 1980s and early 1990s. Hextall was crazy and had a personality perfect for TV.
Georges Laraque
12 of 22Georges Laraque is a well-spoken player who is perfect for TV with his outgoing personality and strong opinions.
Mike Milbury
13 of 22Mike Milbury is a very good NHL analyst on NBC and was a fiery player and coach for the Boston Bruins. His personality and strong opinions on the game of hockey would be perfect for a TV show.
Bobby Clarke
14 of 22Bobby Clarke was an amazing competitor and the heart and soul of the Philadelphia Flyers teams in the 1970s. He would have been fantastic for TV back in his day with his charisma and outgoing personality.
Brett Hull
15 of 22Brett Hull was one of the biggest on-ice talkers of his day and has a sense of humor that would be great for a television show.
Jeremy Roenick
16 of 22Jeremy Roenick is one of the more entertaining people in the hockey media and is great as an analyst for NBC.
It's not hard to imagine that he would be perfect for an NHL reality show.
Patrick Roy
17 of 22Patrick Roy is arguably the best goaltender of all time and he liked to joke, showboat, talk trash, wink and just be hilarious on the ice. He would be perfect for TV.
Eric Lindros
18 of 22Eric Lindros is an opinionated and bold man. He refused to play for the Quebec Nordiques, the team that drafted him, and was at the center of a soap opera between the Flyers and his representation, which happened to be his parents.
Don Cherry
19 of 22Don Cherry played one game for the Boston Bruins, so he qualifies for this list. Cherry is certainly the biggest personality in hockey and is probably the most opinionated man in the sport.
It's not hard to see why he's perfect for TV.
Mike Ribeiro
20 of 22Mike Ribeiro has a good sense of humor, and judging by the video to the left, he's also a fantastic actor. Ribeiro would be a hit on an NHL reality show.
Ray Emery
21 of 22Ray Emery is a passionate guy and is also pretty outgoing. He's not afraid to speak his mind and he's one goalie that isn't afraid to drop the gloves.
Something tells me that he could star on TV after his NHL career is over.
Mike Richards and Jeff Carter
22 of 22Mike Richards and Jeff Carter with a reality show in Los Angeles together? Makes perfect sense, especially given the fact that they are very outgoing and love to party.
These two would make a great pair on TV.
