Tim Tebow: MetLife Messiah Will Cool Off Teammates After Press Conference Fire

Tim Tebow is real.

No, I’m not contradicting some psycho-lunatic who’d argue that he’s a figment of our imagination. Rather, I'm saying the New York Jets will rally around Tebow just like the Denver Broncos did because of the quarterback’s genuineness.

According to Brian Costello of the New York Post, many Jets players aren’t enthused about Tebow joining their squad. Costello wrote that the team shares similar feelings with former Jet Damien Woody.

The retired offensive lineman recently sounded off on the fact that Tebow is getting a press conference for the trade:

How many times has a backup quarterback had a press conference? How many times have there been helicopters to meet a backup quarterback at the airport? The organization is saying he’s the backup quarterback. Well, then why do you feel like you have to have a press conference? Why not just do a conference call and call it a day? It’s a marketing ploy.

"

When there’s even the slightest hint that money is becoming a priority over winning, athletes naturally are filled with doubt. New York just signed Mark Sanchez to a contract extension. I guarantee there are Jets inside that locker room wondering why the team has dealt for Tebow when they know the monster that the media is capable of creating?

Are concerns about Tebow being a distraction justified? Without a doubt. However, if Woody and the Jets paid any attention to the circus in Denver, they’d know that Tebow is a phenomenal ring master.

Tebow’s priorities will win them over. While Sanchez is out posing for GQ, the now-Metlife Messiah will be in the weight room. Tebow’s work ethic is unmatched.

His teammates’ wariness will dissipate as soon as they witness his competitive drive. It happened with the Broncos. Tebow went from fourth-string to team-leader in the blink of an eye.

The attention a Tebow-Rex Ryan combination will attract to the Jets will be nearly unbearable. I say nearly because the addition of the unorthodox QB will without a doubt benefit the franchise. When Sanchez falls short yet again, New York will need a spark to turn their sinking ship around.

Cue heroic music. Enter stage right Tebow.
