WrestleMania 28 Results: Big Show Beats Cody Rhodes to Win Intercontinental Belt
Big Show is the new WWE Intercontinental champion after beating Cody Rhodes, who spent the last month highlighting some of the monster's most embarrassing moments at WrestleMania.
In the end, Big Show got the last laugh.
It's a surprising title change considering how long Rhodes had held the belt. Usually, an extended title reign at the mid-card level leads to bigger and better things, but losing to Big Show doesn't set Rhodes up for an immediate push.

He's still one of the company's most talented young stars, so his day will come. It just won't happen as quickly as he probably hoped.
As for the Big Show, it's another chance for him to shine. He doesn't get the respect he deserves for an impressive career. The veteran has played every role the company has asked him to and, more often than not, did a good job with it.
The period after WrestleMania is normally used to elevate some superstars that lost their television time to bigger names like The Rock, Triple H and Undertaker in recent months. Perhaps Big Show will be used to provide a boost to somebody like Drew McIntyre.
McIntyre has been getting featured a lot—albeit mostly in a negative light—recently, which usually means a push is on the horizon. Having him feud with Big Show before taking the title from him would be a nice turnaround for his character.
All told, Big Show's victory could very well turn out to be the show's most unexpected result. It will be interesting to see how it plays out moving forward.
