Champions League Quarterfinals: Game-by-Game Predictions

Will Tidey@willtideySenior Manager, GlobalMarch 23, 2012

The 2011-12 UEFA Champions League has reached the quarterfinal stage, with representatives from Spain, Portugal, England, Germany, Cyprus, France and Italy all just five games from winning European club football’s ultimate prize.

England’s sole representative is Chelsea, who mounted a remarkable comeback to beat Napoli in the last 16 and now face Benfica in the quarters.

The winners of that tie will play either AC Milan or reigning champions Barcelona—who meet in arguably the most glamorous of the quarterfinal matchups.

On the other side of the draw, German heavyweights Bayern Munich face French opposition in the form of Marseille.

The victorious team will face the winners of the tie between Cypriots APOEL and Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid.

Here are my predictions for the four quarterfinal ties.
