TNA News: Kevin Nash Open to TNA Return; Is TNA Ready to Bring Him Back?
This one kind of came out of left field, yet it's not really all too shocking.
Earlier this week, wrestlinginc.com reported in a recent interview Kevin Nash stating he would be open to coming back to TNA. This to me is a bit odd considering a year ago, while employed by the WWE, he was bashing TNA.. Fast forward one year later, Nash finds himself unemployed and out of the limelight.
So what's a former big-shot wrestler to do when he looking to get back into the fold? That's right, folks, try and mend those bridges.
The aforementioned article stated:
"I have a 15-year-old son, and at this point my son needs a Dad more than the world needs a wrestler. The thing that makes TNA work for me is that first of all I have way more friends there than in WWE. I made some friends once I came there—Punk and I got along well, me and Ziggler got along well and I got a chance to hang out with John Cena—but my crew of guys that are still in the business are more the TNA guys," he told Rob McNichols in an interview for the One Sided Ring podcast.
"It's 50 miles from my house. I can drive over there; I don't have to get on a plane. I can put my gear in the trunk, drop the top on my convertible and be over there and do it. It was always a really easy travel day for me. I enjoyed being down there. I also part of a lot of the young guys—AJ, Eric Young, Bobby Roode—in their early stages of development. Now these guys are becoming stars. I'm not saying I wouldn't go back. If they had something for me and they needed me, I would go back and do it. Right now I'm starting to get bored!"
"
Now this little tidbit didn't go unnoticed as TNA talent/??? Eric Bischoff tweeted the following: "Hear Kevin Nash is open to coming back to Impact. Lots of history with Kevin. Always great to work with. Another Detroit guy on the team?"
So folks, don't be entirely shocked if you see "Big Daddy Cool" back at The Impact Zone. Personally, I feel this would be a terrible signing. As it stands, it appears we will be seeing Sting back in the ring on a regular basis, which I also am not a fan of.
Right now, TNA is rebuilding and putting some of their younger stars over. This process will take about a year to catch on as these stars need time to build their brand. Let's face it, when it comes time to pass the torch, even the WWE goes through its own growing pains.
Now, I am not totally opposed to Nash's return under the right circumstances. Ideally, if they were to bring back Nash, they would need to use him as an ambassador, enforcer or manager of sorts. Especially considering he is not the Kevin Nash of the '90s and right now TNA doesn't need another old guy taking TV time away from their current stars.
Well, now it's your time to weigh in. Should TNA consider bringing Nash back, or should Nash just enjoy being retired?
