Philop Sharky Sounds Off Before Upcoming Match

Sam SmithJan 15, 2009

It was announced in the wee hours of the morning on Friday that Philop Sharky would be facing Mr Stingray and Manny the Manta at New Years Destruction. This event will occur at 7PM at the Marriott Hotel in Linconshire Illinois.

Sharky has been on a streak that many thought was never possible. King Frog had a 8 month title reign around two years ago and many thought that would never be duplicated, well fate would have it Sharky would defeat King Frog and not lose again. Sharky has been champion over a year shattering the record with authority.

He has defeated everyone there is too beat. Which has lead many fans, other superstars, and many other to wonder why is Sharky still fighting? What left is there to prove? Sharky before this reign was almost the unquestioned greatest of all time, now after a year reign and beating everyone in his path there is NO question who is the greatest of all time.

However many think it's time for Sharky to hang up the gloves. Sharky is 35 years old, and has literally won every title to win in the SFF and then won it again, and again, and again. He has beaten everyone there is to beat, Again, and again, and again.

It has gotten to the point where chairmen Ray and Connor have had to put systems in place to name a contender. The fact is that Sharky is too-good-for-the-SFF good. It's been over a 13 months since Sharky's last loss. Before he would at least occasionally lose to create a little parity.

Now, however, Sharky has dominated the scene. Sharky is without a doubt the most beloved SFF figure in history. No fans want Sharky to go they would love to see this go on and on and on.

However other SFF superstars and management would like to see Sharky go. Granted Sharky brings in the highest ratings, fans and merchandise. Yet he is doing what Michael Jordan did to the NBA and then some. Many believe that once Sharky truly does leave no one will be able to fill the giant gap that Sharky filled.

Many have things to say but Sharky had this to say "You know, people keep telling me it's time to hang it up, I should think about retirement, all this and that. Why? I'm on the greatest run of my career; I'm back to perfect health, the SFF is stronger and greater than ever, and I'm well rested. Everyone seems to be happy except those a-hole executives because they are 'worried that no one will be able to fill' my shoes.

"Who said anyone has to? Why not want your leading merchandise seller, from what I've been told most beloved fighter in history, which I truly appreciate, and why would they want their highest ratings-drawer gone? I don't get it. Either way, I'm not going to let a few executives try to force me out of the sport and business I love.

"Things couldn't be greater for me or my fans. Maybe the executives should be worried about getting everyone else's a** in gear and beating me instead of trying to get rid of me. I hate to sound like a pompous ass because that's not what I am, but I'm just sayin. See you at New Year's Destruction."

It's that entire quote there why Sharky is so loved; he tells it how it is with bold, brash conviction yet with such an innocent feel. It makes one wonder has this guy ever really done anything wrong?

Whatever the case, many other are in support of Sharky staying. King Frog said "I want my chance to kick his a** again, so I hope he sticks around." Finny said "I love Sharky like a brother; I hope he stays around until he's finished his business."

Whatever the case, Sharky will be fighting for the first time in three months, he is fresh off a surgery to repair some damaged ligaments and it rearing and ready to go even if he is defending his title against two people.
