Wisconsin Football: 2013 Recruiting Targets Still Available
While spring practice may dominate the college football headlines, recruiting is never far from the conversation.
The University of Wisconsin may be in the process of a rather extensive program-wide rebuilding project, but that does not mean Bret Bielema and his staff can let it show on the recruiting trail.
So far, the Badgers stand with one verbal commitment from linebacker Garret Dooley, who also received interest from Illinois and Vanderbilt.
While Dooley is a class of one at the moment, plenty of big names and perfect fits are still available:
Chikwe Obasih, DE
The Brookfield, WI native is a four-star talent with plenty of Big Ten teams in hot pursuit.
He has ideal height at 6'4'', but could probably stand to gain some weight if he wants to contend with college offensive linemen.
According to Rivals.com, Obasih currently holds 14 offers, which include his home state Wisconsin Badgers.
Austin Ramesh, ATH
Wisconsin could always use more athletes, and the 6'2", 215-lbs Austin Ramesh could be a special one.
Midwest and east coast powers have all entered the fray for the coveted northern Wisconsin product projected to be an outside linebacker at the next level.
Malik Zaire, QB
Remember Russell Wilson?
So do the Badgers, and that is a big reason Wisconsin extended an offer to dual-threat quarterback Malik Zaire.
While a host of huge names are trying to get four-star Zaire's attention, Wisconsin may actually have an edge on its rivals as Zaire and superstar linebacker Chris Borland both hail from Archbishop Alter High School in Kettering, Ohio.
