Ray Rice, Devin McCourty & Other Rutgers Alumni Recall Draft Days

NFL Draft 365Jun 7, 2018

When you think of college football powerhouses with great tradition, who comes to mind? For starters, you have to mention USC, Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame and Alabama. The list goes on.

But, you’d be hard-pressed to come up with the Scarlet Knights of Rutgers in this conversation. When it comes to tradition, only one other team can claim that they played in the very first intercollegiate football game back in 1869. Yes, Rutgers defeated Princeton by the score 6-4.

Fast-forward to 2005, as head coach Gary Schiano led Rutgers to their first winning season since 1992, bringing the program to instant credibility.
