Stanford Pro Day 2012: Top NFL Prospects Everyone Will Be Watching
With Stanford's pro day underway, there are several big-time NFL prospects the whole nation will be watching.
There's of course, Andrew Luck, who undoubtedly will go No. 1 overall, but there are also three other potential first-rounders who could cement their status on Thursday.
Let's take a look at Stanford's other stars.
3. Coby Fleener, TE
Coby Fleener, Andrew Luck's trusty target, is generally considered to be the top tight end in the draft class this year.
Fleener has great speed for his size, as evidenced at the pro day, has terrific hand-eye coordination and can adjust to balls very well.
There's a reason Fleener had 667 yards and 10 touchdowns last season with Stanford. He's a dynamic downfield threat at the tight end position.
2. Jonathan Martin, OT
Jonathan Martin has slipped a bit after the NFL Combine, but he's still a legitimate first-rounder and potential top 15 pick.
He has solid technique, playing light on his feet, and he's a strong second-level blocker as well. You add in his tenacity and demeanor and he has the makeup to be a solid starting tackle in the NFL.
1. David DeCastro, G
David DeCastro may be drafted after Martin this year given that he's a guard, but he's a better overall lineman than Martin in my opinion. He's hands-down the best interior lineman in the draft.
DeCastro is physically dominant, explodes with his hands, has great footwork, is above-average in both pass-blocking and run-blocking and has a nasty temperament (in a good way).
Anyone who drafts DeCastro is going to be happy. He has the ability to be a franchise guard for years to come.
DeCastro is expected to snap some balls for Luck as a center on Thursday.
