Tim Tebow Reportedly Shunned Hometown Jaguars for Jets
Tim Tebow's road to the New York Jets included a lot of speed bumps. One of the most notable ones was his decision to spurn the Jacksonville Jaguars because he didn't feel like they really wanted him.
John Elway did an interview on Thursday where he said that Tebow was in control of his destination after the Denver Broncos had two offers on the table.

"Tebow told reporters on a conference call that the decision was not his. Meanwhile, his agent (to a New York station), Elway and multiple reports said the opposite.
"We want to go where someone wants him," Robby Tebow said earlier in the day.
Could be they felt more wanted by the Jets.
"
Tebow refutes the claim, but that could just be his way of saving face in Jacksonville. He is a beloved figure in that area, really in the entire state of Florida, so the idea that he would turn down the opportunity to go back there could rub some people the wrong way.
It's hard to argue with Tebow's logic, if he did have the choice. The Jets are going to give him chances to play. General manger Mike Tannenbaum has gone on record as saying that Tebow is going to be featured in the wildcat offense.
The Jaguars would have benefited financially having Tebow in town, but it would have made last year's No. 1 pick Blaine Gabbert virtually obsolete, and the immense pressure the coaching staff would have felt with Florida's favorite son was likely not something they wanted to deal with.
Tebow apparently got the deal he wanted, and the circus that is the New York Jets just added another ring worth paying attention to.
