WWE News: Chris Jericho Responds to Negativity Regarding His Current Run
One thing is for sure, wrestling fans are fickle. One minute they are thrilled to see their hero return, the next they can't wait to boo the very same person for stepping away.
For Chris Jericho, this has proven to be no different, as wrestinginc.com is reporting:
"There has been speculation about Chris Jericho's WWE future after the news came out that he and Fozzy would be playing concerts in the UK this summer. A fan on Twitter pointed out the shows last night and called Jericho an a-hole for leaving WWE again. Jericho's reply indicates that he's not looking to leave WWE for any extended period of time. He wrote: "Yeah for two gigs. #idiot"

Since his return, it has been widely speculated that this WWE run will be a short one. Some people have embraced this, while others clearly are not too pleased. Either way, the fact remains that Jericho and his band Fozzy have a chance to play a huge outdoor festival with some of the biggest names in rock.
From June 8th-10th, Jericho will be in England with Fozzy to play the second stage of the Download Festival. This is a pretty big deal, as he and his band-mates have a chance to perform in front of thousands of people that may not have been exposed to Fozzy. I am a huge Jericho fan, and I personally feel that he should take advantage of every opportunity he has. Especially considering the wrestling business isn't always too kind to its former heroes.
In many cases, wrestlers hang on too long and want to keep a stronghold on the limelight. Meanwhile, people like Jericho find other options to keep themselves busy while continuing to utilize their creativity and popularity.
As a wrestling fan for almost 30 years, I appreciate all of the entertainment that is provided to us by these stars. However, I also feel like if they should take time off to recharge their batteries and not be chastised for doing so. Especially if they excel at other passions and can continue being creative in another outlet.
To me, this has made Jericho a better entertainer and has allowed his shtick to stay fresh. Hopefully, the haters will begin to realize that Jericho taking time off is good for the business. As it not only helps Jericho, but it allows others to get their shot and prove that they deserve top billing.
