Weird Storyline With Randy Orton's Legacy Working With a Ref?
As I watched the Randy Orton vs. Kane match, I saw Kane was doing well. Orton did well as always, but clearly Kane had him going. At least until the end. Orton had caught Kane and then got the three count.
Or did he? Referee Scott Armstrong counted to three when clearly Kane's shoulder was up at two. You saw Armstrong just walk away from the ring like nothing had happened, ignoring Kane.
And now word is coming out that Armstrong will be working with Legacy. It is a storyline that has been discussed for a small time too. And it would work as Armstrong like many in the faction is second generation.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Armstrong is the older son of Bob Armstrong and the brother of Brad, Steve, and Brian (BG James in TNA). Armstrong has wrestled over the years, but has refereed for WWE since 2006, after having stints with WCW and TNA.
So he could wrestle if needed. And he is a good ref by WWE standards, so he will stay employed if the storyline doesn't work out. Vince has not yet pulled the plug on the storyline. But of course anything can change in the WWE, even at the last minute.
I personally have never seen him wrestle, but if he is as good as BG or his father, then he will be great in the WWE.
I also don't know how he is in acting yet either, as I have never heard him speak. Usually he is just in the ring reffing. Now, the WWE has had success in moving refs from their position and putting them in the spotlight.
Anyone remember Teddy Long? The ECW GM had been a referee in the WWE for some time. Now before that he had been a manager in WCW and that was mainly the reason he did so well with the WWE as a General Manager.
He was good on the mic, and really that was all he had to do. Armstrong has to wrestle. Sure he will still ref, but how long will the WWE let him do that? Not long I am afraid.
I think this is the WWE's answer to what TNA is doing with one of their referees. Completely different storyline, but it does have a ref involved who was a former wrestler in another promotion.
Like I mentioned, anything is subject to change in the WWE. So we will have to wait and see what they do. Do you want to see this storyline?
