NBA Rumors: Latest Buzz Heading into Friday's Playoff Roster Deadline

Matt ShetlerJun 7, 2018

NBA teams are preparing for one final push to add some depth for a postseason run, with more than a few free agents out there on the block.

Miami did so by adding Ronny Turiaf, while Oklahoma City did the same by adding Derek Fisher.

However, teams must act quickly. The deadline to sign a free agent and have them eligible for the postseason is Friday.

Here's the latest buzz around the league.

Ryan Hollins

Hollins was waived by the Cleveland Cavaliers and has a choice of where to sign. However, it currently looks like he will be wearing green, as the Boston Celtics appear to be the front-runners in the race to sign him, according to the Boston Herald.

With both Chris Wilcox and Jermaine O'Neal already out for the season, the seven-footer from UCLA will fit in nicely with the Celtics, since Boston desperately needs big bodies.

Mickell Gladness

The Warriors lost out on J.J. Hickson when the Blazers shockingly claimed him off waivers yesterday.

Golden State will now sign Gladness to a 10-day contract, according to Scott Schroeder of RidiculousUpside.com.

San Antonio Spurs

The Spurs are linked to both Boris Diaw and Patty Mills.

Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski thinks the Spurs are the leading contender for Diaw after he was bought out by the Charlotte Bobcats.

San Antonio is also waiting on Mills to clear up his visa issues before they finalize their deal with the Australian point guard.

Chris Douglas-Roberts

The Chicago Bulls could use some depth at the 2-guard spot behind the oft-injured Richard Hamilton. CDR could be that guy after hinting through his Twitter account that he may be heading to Chicago.

Wallace has been hinting that he will join either the Lakers or Heat, but with Miami's signing of Turiaf, the Heat likely have no interest left in Wallace.

However, he could be there for the Lakers to have. Fox Sports' Chris Tomasson reported that Wallace will make his decision on Friday.
