Tim Tebow to Jets: Bold Predictions for Tebow as a Jet in 2012
The New York Jets shocked the NFL when they traded for Tim Tebow.
The signing of Peyton Manning left Tebow out of a job. The Broncos basically immediately started shopping him, and the Jets came out of nowhere and expressed serious interest in him.
How Tebow will exactly fit in with the Jets is still unknown, but here are bold predictions for him as a Jet next season.
Tebow Will Not Start One Game at QB
1 of 6The Jets already have a polarizing quarterback in Mark Sanchez. He is often criticized, and many feel that he even regressed last season. While he may not have actually regressed, Sanchez did fail to live up to expectations.
In Denver last season, when Kyle Orton started struggling, the Tebow fans forced him on the field. Many feel that the second Sanchez struggles, Tebow will get a shot to start.
However, the Jets and Mark Sanchez will take steps in the right direction, leaving Tebow as the backup and Wildcat specialist. Although Tebow will not start at quarterback all season, he may make a start at another position, like tight end or fullback, as the Jets try to send out creative and unpredictable schemes.
Throw 5 TDs and Rush for 5 TDs
2 of 6The addition of Tebow to the Jets shows that they are committed to getting back to the ground-and-pound offense. That means we could see Tebow run the Wildcat around five or 10 times a game.
The plus side to having Tebow run the Wildcat is that he is actually a quarterback, as opposed to Jeremy Kerley or Joe McKnight. Tebow will keep defenses guessing whether he will run the ball or throw it.
His ability to keep the defense unsure of what he is going to do will open up touchdown opportunities. Tebow will throw five touchdowns and have five rushing touchdowns.
Significant in Jets Winning AFC East
3 of 6The decision to bring in Tebow is baffling right now, and many feel it is going to be a train wreck. However, it will be a success and be the thing that finally gets them over the hump in winning the AFC East.
Tebow's leadership skills and overall determination to win will be crucial for this Jets team. He will be very influential in the locker room as well as on the field. The success of the Wildcat offense will be surprising and will allow the Jets to win the AFC East.
Less Polarizing in New York
4 of 6"Tebowmania" was a circus last season. Now that he is coming to New York, you would think that the circus would only get more chaotic. However, this season Tebow will become a less polarizing figure.
This is because Tebow will not be the starter but will truly come into his own with the Jets. Tebow does not really have the talent to be an NFL quarterback. However he is absolutely a football player and with the right role, he could become a damn good one in the NFL.
Tebow will find out the best role for him in the NFL on the Jets, which will lead to him being less polarizing.
Will Turn Down Kim Kardashian (Again)
5 of 6Kim Kardashian admittedly has a crush on Tim Tebow, but he has apparently already turned down a date with Kardashian.
Kardashian has a thing for athletes. More specifically she has a thing for New York athletes. Names that have been connected to Kardashian include Kris Humphries, Danilo Gallinari, Jeremy Lin and even Mark Sanchez.
Despite already turning down Kardashian, Tebow will be courted again by Kardashian. Unfortunately for her, she will swing and miss again.
Tebowmania and Linsanity Will Butt Heads
6 of 6The NBA had its own version of Tim Tebow emerge in New York with Jeremy Lin. The two are often compared and rightfully so. They both are considered underdogs, are polarizing and are extremely religious.
While the two have an apparent mutual respect for each other, they will butt heads in New York. This will be largely because of the media trying to spin stories and causing issues between the two.
