Why Not Having James Posey Means Celtics Wont Repeat As NBA Champs
The Boston Celtics last year, were a hungry team, played with energy and enthusiasm, had a good bench.
That's whats going to hurt them this year going into the playoffs there bench. Last season the Celtics had veteran players like Posey, PJ Brown, Sam Cassel, those guys brought leadership and contribute to the Celtics winning the NBA Finals.
Posey is the main guy that they are going to miss because, he was the only guy on the team that always diving on the ground for loose balls, knocking down big shots. Posey did a great job guarding both the best players in the NBA playoffs, LeBron James then Kobe Bryant in the NBA finals, he bothered those guys and made them take tough shots.
In the off season Posey decided to move on with his career. Posey signed a contract with the New Orleans Hornets, joining All Stars Chris Paul, David West. Also another guy that was a key piece to the Celtics success was Center PJ Brown. Brown decided to retire after going out on top and, was not interested helping the Celtics defend there crown.
Boston big three can only take them so far, Danny Ainge the Celtics general manager needs to add another piece in order to repeat as Champions. Can Stephon Marbury be that guy? Marbury has not played single game this season and showed desire to get out of New York. Celtics have showed interest in him if he hits the free-agency market, and he can be a guy that can help the bench in the playoffs, even though he has some attitude issues.
But if Ainge decides to go with the young guys, like Glen Davis, Tony Allen, Leon Powe, the Celtics are going to have problems in the playoffs. The only guy that maybe on the bench that is a veteran and can play is Eddie House, House makes some big shots, and brings enthusiasm on the court sort of like Posey.
The Celtics surely wont win the title if they play the Los Angeles Lakers. The reason why is Sasha Vujacic, Trevor Ariza, Jordan Farmer all play like they can be starters, and now the Lakers have Andrew Byum.
A key missing part when these two teams payed last year and some people believe if Bynum was there the Lakers would have beat the Celtics. If the two teams play now, I like the Lakers 4-2 because you just have to have a bench to win in the National Basketball Association.
But the Celtics are still the NBA champions, and if you want to be the best you have to beat the best. You are going to have to go to their home and beat them.
