Jerry Angelo Just Doesn't Get It

As a lifelong Chicago Bears fan, I was thinking, what do the Bears need? Then after listening to GM Jerry Angelo talk after the last game of the season, I figured it out.

The Bears will suffer as long as Angelo is the general manager. They just simply need to fire him.                   

Even before the season started, Angelo was spending money like water. First, he gives middle linebacker Brian Urlacher a bonus for no reason whatsoever. Then he gave defensive tackle Tommie Harris a ridiculous contract.

However, it didn't stop there. Next he let wide receiver Bernard Berrian go to their division rivals, the Minnesota Vikings, of all places.

Then he drafted offensive tackle Chris Williams, who dropped in the draft because it was known he had a back problem. And that's just a few of the knucklehead things he did.

The first thing the Bears need is to get better at quarterback.

The team surpassed expectations on offense when they came into the season with a rookie running back, with Devin Hester moved to wide receiver from cornerback, wide receiver Brandon Lloyd, who is injured every year, and starting wide receiver Raseed Davis, who is fifth receiver on any other team.

Angel has a lot of nerve to put it all on the quarterback play, and I'm not saying the Bears wouldn't be better with Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb, but 18 touchdowns with 12 interceptions and three rushing touchdowns isn't bad for a 25-year-old quarterback.

He also has the worst wideouts in the entire NFL, not to mention having had a significant injury in the second part of the season.

It seems to me Angelo is using the quarterback play as a scapegoat, and an educated National Football League fan understands that after watching this year they need some wideouts that are going to make some plays!

Angelo, I put this season on you completely, and if the Bears don't make the playoffs, you will be out of a job.
