Villarreal vs. Real Madrid: Los Blancos Will Coast to Dominating Victory

Richard LangfordJun 2, 2018

Real Madrid is going to punish a sinking Villarreal squad. The Los Blancos cannot let three points escape them in this match, and that means the overmatched Villarreal has no shot at success.

Madrid is a solid five points ahead of Barcelona in the La Liga table, but Barca is playing lights-out right now. Los Blancos have to close the campaign strong if they want to hold onto that lead.

They have 11 La Liga matches left. That is plenty of time for the to blow a five-point lead, especially if they continue to put out efforts like their 1-1 draw vs. Malaga their last time on the pitch.

However, this Madrid squad has been uncannily resilient all season, and they will once again prove their merit here by stomping on a Villarreal side that is floundering in the abyss.

The Yellow Submarine have lost five of their last six matches.

The match they didn't lose was a lackluster draw against Athletic Bilbao that was at the end of last month. This tailspin cost Jose Molina his job.

He was axed on Sunday and is now replaced by Miguel Angel Lotina. It is safe to say that Lotina is inheriting a mess, and now he has to try and turn that all around against the squad that all La Liga teams are chasing.

That's not going to happen.

Los Blancos has worked too hard, been through too much and is far too talented to let their glorious campaign be derailed by a band of floundering misfits.

They will win, 3-0.
