WWE/TNA: Kurt Angle Goes on Twitter Tirade, Bashes Steve Austin, Chris Jericho
This is starting to become a thing with Kurt Angle, every couple of months he decides to do some random tweeting and then deletes the threads.
Wrestlinginc.com is reporting that Angle's latest tirade was targeted toward several of WWE's current and former money-makers.
The article states:
"Angle posted several controversial tweets, some of which you can read below and some that have since been deleted. No response yet from Shawn Michaels or Steve Austin."I'm training for Olympics. Every Wrestler is terrified of me that they will get tired
"@steveaustinBSR @ShawnMichaels But Could Either of U take Me as a Shoot? Be Honest! I Respect You Both!
"@steveaustinBSR @ShawnMichaels by the way! I Love Austin and Michaels. Just Joking. U guys are legends!
"I Became a top star in 1 year, but it took Shawn and Austin 15years. Hello?
"I have not touched a pill 8 yrs. up urs
"@JRsBBQ @IAmJericho How do You feel about that. I'm the Best today! If Wwe never wants Me, their Mistake. What then?"
After a fan told him to go back to WWE and take Sting with him, he replied, "I wish. Sting will stay in tna"
"
To me, these tweets seem like a desperate attempt to get back into the limelight. Which is truly sad, as Angle is and has always been a star for both TNA and WWE.
However, it does seem like he still has a very soft spot for the WWE, yet tries too hard to let fans know he is loyal to TNA. I personally got to interview Angle prior to 2011's Bound For Glory, and his loyalty to TNA seems genuine.
In fact, after that interview he said he wants to help TNA get to the next level and help build their future. Although, I don't think he ever imagined that future would include giving Garett Bischoff a win in a non-sanctioned match.
I am sure if ever given the opportunity, Angle would head back to the WWE in a heartbeat. However, I don't think the WWE has aggressively tried to bring him back since his departure.
One thing is for sure, Angle is getting up there in age and his nagging injuries are catching up to him. So it's unlikely that he will ever get another good run with the WWE.
I would say the most he could hope for would be a Royal Rumble spot or one-year contract towards the end of his career.
In the end, who knows if Angle would ever go back to the WWE in any capacity. Especially, considering he has stated that he would like to become an ambassador for TNA when he retires.
