Tim Tebow: Will He Fly or Flop as a New York Jet?

Tim Tebow is as professional and respectful as they come. Rex Ryan and his gang of New York Jets are as bold and obnoxious as they come.

While some people believe Tebow can help ease tensions in the Jets' locker room, it's a shame that Tebow has to be placed in this situation.

Somehow, someway, the ownership of the Denver Broncos have absolutely no appreciation for what Tebow has done. He has gotten no respect from the organization and didn't have many believers in Denver's front office.

Tebow is a proven leader and a winner. Look at his career from Florida to now. He gets the job done, even if it is unconventional. What he has lacked in the NFL is somebody that believes in him. He was drafted by Josh McDaniels, but that tenure didn't last long. Peyton Manning pushed him out of Denver.

However, his career has just begun.

The New York Jets believe that Tebow can help their franchise. That's why they traded for him. The big question is how Tebow will behave in the locker room. Based on his strong Christan faith, it seems as if he will not agree with how Rex Ryan goes about his business.

Tensions between the Jets players are high. They have a Super Bowl-or-bust mentality. Expect the backup quarterback to either have a great or terrible Jets career. It's one or the other.

Tim Tebow can flop as a Jet because it is very realistic that he feels uncomfortable with the organization. The Jets do have the presence of veterans, but the idea of Tebow as a Jet must upset some of the players.

Tebow has different viewpoints and values than most NFL players. If he is not respected by his teammates, how can he succeed on the field? If he doesn't like how his coaches coach, how can he respond to them?

There is a realistic possibility that Tebow doesn't care for the big personalities of some Jets and some Jets don't care for the humble nature of Tebow.

Tim Tebow also has the potential to succeed as a New York Jet. He can be more versatile in the wildcat than Brad Smith ever was. Since the Jets love the ground-and-pound game, Tebow can thrive as a ball carrier. He can be used in short-yardage situations and can be a monster in the red zone.

He also has much better tools to work with in New York. With the likes of Santonio Holmes, Shonn Greene and Dustin Keller, Tebow has a variety of weapons that can be utilized in a variety of ways.

Perhaps Tebow can co-exist with Mark Sanchez and be the difference in New York. It is very possible that the Jets create special plays for Tim Tebow that allow him to revive his career.

Tim Tebow is now a New York Jet, there is no changing that. The big question is if he is ready for the limelight of New York and if the organization is ready to truly embrace him. Tebow will either enjoy his stay as a Jet or crash and burn. It certainly is an interesting storyline.

And Tebow controls how this plane lands.
