Why Chelsea Should Give Roberto Di Matteo the Job Full-Time
Roberto Di Matteo deserves to be the new full-time Chelsea manager.
As reluctant as I was at first, it's clear that Di Matteo has earned the opportunity to manage Chelsea.
Di Matteo has won big games, shown his pride in the club and related to players well.

If he continues to do that, Di Matteo will help Chelsea return to the top of England. At the beginning of each season, the Blues aspire to win trophies, and Di Matteo gives them the best chance to do that.
Even though Chelsea haven't played much in the league, they have recorded three victories in win-or-go-home games. With two FA Cup wins and a miracle victory in the Champions League, Di Matteo has shown his ability to win when it matters most.
If Chelsea want to win trophies, they must win matches under tremendous amounts of pressure. Di Matteo has proven that he can pick a side and strategy good enough to win under pressure.
When he's won those games, Di Matteo has been ecstatic. His jumping and hugging after the Napoli victory caught some players (and pretty much everyone, for that matter) off-guard, but the exuberance was great to watch.
Di Matteo wants to win for the club, and that separates him from a lot of other young managers. He has pride in Chelsea, and that's what the club needs. Football isn't all about numbers and building for the future; sometimes, it's about the love of the game and the club.
Di Matteo clearly loves the club, and he will continue to win for the love of Chelsea, which is the type of person the club needs in charge.
Chelsea also need a manager that relates well to players. Andre Villas-Boas had fine tactics and a good plan, but he alienated the players. Once he did that at Chelsea, he had no chance of controlling the dressing room.
Di Matteo, on the other hand, relates extremely well with the players. He lets them have their say, and he understands how to deal with the massive egos.
Obviously, the players can't run the club, but they deserve a say. Players like Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard and especially John Terry want their voices heard. Players who have as much success and knowledge as these three deserve a say in the squad.
Di Matteo has managed their egos well, and he has given them a say without letting them completely manage the team. That balance is key, and Di Matteo has dealt with it well.
Even though it's only been a few matches, Di Matteo has done incredibly well at Chelsea. He's gotten things back on track, and he has Chelsea in good position to win a trophy.
Di Matteo deserves a chance to finish the season, bring in a few younger players and keep Chelsea's winning tradition alive.
Di Matteo has shown great signs of success so far, proving that he's the right man for the job.
