Lionel Messi is now Barcelona's all-time top scorer!

In the 67th minute of Barcelona's match against Granada, Messi broke Cesar Rodriguez's 60-year-old club record.

Messi went into the match with 231 goals for the club, one away from the record.

In the 17th minute, Messi tied the mark with a spectacular volley after a deflected cross from Isaac Cuenca.

He then broke the record with a beautiful chip shot to beat Cesar

Not only did Messi break the record, he also saved Barcelona from a rather embarrassing draw.

Then, five minutes from time, Messi added yet another to complete the hat trick and bring his tally to 234.

Messi finished with three goals and two assists on the night.

He now leads Cristiano Ronaldo by two goals in the race for the Pichichi Trophy with Real Madrid playing Villarreal tomorrow.

Messi's record will surely grow to a near-untouchable figure with him still being just 24 years old.
