NFL Free Agent Signings: Top Remaining Free Agents and Likely Landing Spots
Now that we don't have to hear about where Peyton Manning will go anymore, we can start focusing on the other top free agents on the market in the National Football League.
After Hines Ward's retirement speech on Tuesday, he urged restricted free-agent receiver Mike Wallace to stay with the Pittsburgh Steelers. But did his words ring true?
Here's a look at where I see the top free agents available ultimately landing.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Curtis Lofton, LB
The Atlanta Falcons appear content letting Curtis Lofton walk, given they have Akeem Dent and signed Lofa Tatupu. That means Lofton will be one popular man this offseason, with several teams looking for a middle linebacker.
This teams include: the Baltimore Ravens, Philadelphia Eagles, New Orleans Saints, Indianapolis Colts, Seattle Seahawks and Detroit Lions (if Stephen Tulloch leaves).
The Saints received a visit from Lofton on Monday. They've been looking to upgrade their defense via free agency and allowed 5.0 yards per carry last season, among the worst in the league.
I think Lofton ultimately signs with the Saints. According to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Eagles consider Lofton a two-down linebacker and probably won't break the bank for him. I also don't think the Ravens spend much this offseason on a middle linebacker, given Ray Lewis still has some left in the tank and I think they'll draft a linebacker instead.
Vernon Carey, G
Vernon Carey wasn't his usual dominant self last season, but he's a better fit at right tackle anyway.
Grantland.com sees the New York Jets being a good fit for Carey, where he could slide into Wayne Hunter's spot. Plus, former Miami Dolphins coach Tony Sparano is the new offensive coordinator for the Jets.
I could see Carey going to the Jets. It makes a lot of sense, and the Dolphins don't appear to have their act together this offseason.
Mike Wallace, WR
I know Hines Ward wants Wallace to stay in Pittsburgh, but it's ultimately about what Wallace wants and if the Steelers can even afford him.
There is some speculation that the Denver Broncos will go after Wallace after their recent signing of Peyton Manning. That would give Manning a legit No. 1 receiver. They would have to give up their first-round pick if they landed Wallace, but they have the No. 25 overall pick. That's not a bad bargain for a star receiver.
The New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers are likely out of the running, given they've stocked up on receivers. The Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals are contenders, but I see them wanting to improve through the draft this year.
I like Wallace with the Broncos.
