Tim Tebow Trade Rumors: What We Learned About QB's Future at Manning Presser

With Peyton Manning now officially a Denver Bronco, it is time to officially kick the Tim Tebow trade rumors into full gear. 

As Peyton was announced as a new member of the Broncos and fielded questions from the media, the topic inevitably turned to Tim Tebow. As one would expect, Manning was complimentary and gracious. 

Here is his response:

It is kind of hard to take Peyton at his word when he says he was not a part of those discussions. In the long process of picking a team, I'm sure the topic of what the Broncos would do with the wildly popular Tebow came up, but it is not a shock that he didn't want to get into detail about that.

However, the fact that Manning went into the whole "if other opportunities present themselves" spiel is a pretty good indication that the Broncos will ensure that other opportunities present themselves. 

So, let's move onto others who are more than happy to get into details. Here are teams that are being kicked around as far as inquiring about a trade for Tebow.   

Adam Schefter of ESPN had the latest on interested parties:

Teams that have discussed a trade for quarterback Tim Tebow, either internally or with the Denver Broncos, include the Jacksonville Jaguars, Green Bay Packers, Miami Dolphins and New York Jets, a league source said.

One league source categorized the Jets as "a long shot."

ESPN's John Clayton dropped this rumor on ESPN Radio over the weekend:

Here's an interesting proposition, just a rumor. Let's say you have Manning going to Denver. Tim Tebow is probably going to be traded. He's not going to Jacksonville, they've already got Chad Henne. New England. You trade him to New England and groom him to be kind of a role player, and then you trade Ryan Mallett in some way. It's just a rumor.

Wherever Tebow goes, he is likely going to start on the bench. 

Of these teams presented, the Jaguars and Dolphins would provide Tebow the quickest route to playing, as both have extremely shaky QB situations. Both also have solid running games, which would be enhanced by Tebow's style of play.
