John Cena Car Accident: WWE Drops the Ball Not Capitalizing on Philly Turmoil
What I learned about the WWE on Monday: They are slow to react to breaking news.
The creative team lost a golden opportunity to capitalize on the odd situation John Cena found himself in yesterday in Philadelphia. His Chevy Tahoe was rear-ended by a Honda Civic that had just been hit by a tractor trailer on a highway. WWE released a statement saying that Cena was “a little shaken up,” but was medically cleared to fight “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry on Monday Night Raw.
Instead or rewriting the script and finding an angle that can add additional intrigue, the incident was barely mentioned on a two-hour show that featured plenty of forgettable moments.

Predicting Next Moves for WWE Roster Cuts 🔮

Why Roster Cuts Happened After WM
Why not make the wreck seem worse than it was and bring out Cena in a neck brace for his “whiplash?” Why not make it seem like Cena is milking it to avoid The Rock? Or how about finding a way to blame the wreck on Rock? Call it a big conspiracy theory.
He got pummeled by the massive Henry for the majority of the match before a weak Cena body slam turned the tables and Chain Gang ended up winning. It wasn’t a very good match at all and the intrigue about his injuries and state-of-mind to be in a car crash just 13 days before one of the biggest matches not only of the past decade, but in the history of WWE, was not explored.
Then The Rock appears from nowhere to also slam Henry to the mat as a way to strike fear into an on-looking Cena. Rock didn’t mention the car crash at all and just walked away. It was their weakest interaction in the last month for the hypefest that is their epic WrestleMania bout.
I don’t know what the best angle could have been for the creative team with just a few hours to prepare, but they could have done something to further move along the Rock-Cena feud.
Instead, they dropped the ball and it led to one boring episode of RAW.
