Tim Tebow Trade Rumors: Jaguars Must Target Broncos QB to Turn Around Franchise

Alex KayMar 21, 2012

Now that the Denver Broncos have signed Peyton Manning, it’s time for them to jettison Tim Tebow and move on from that experiment completely.

There is no better place for him to land than with his hometown Jacksonville Jaguars.

Tebow played high school ball at Nease, which is just outside of the city, and became a star at the University of Florida down Gainesville.

For a franchise that struggles to sell tickets and regularly tarps off complete sections of their stadium to avoid blackouts, a player like Tebow could be their savior.

Jacksonville had a chance to select Tebow in the 2010 draft, but opted to go with Tyson Alualu instead. The Cal defensive tackle isn’t a bust, but he certainly isn’t putting any butts in the seats.

The Jags have since cut ties with the coach and even owner that did not want Tebow back in 2010, which means it’s time to bring the signal caller back home.

The price should be cheap too.

There simply aren’t too many teams interested in acquiring the third-year QB and his uncanny ability to divide a fan base and bring a media circus with him wherever he goes.

Denver has absolutely no need for him, and it would be borderline dangerous for them to keep him on the roster while Manning is in town. There is still the lingering stench of Tebowmania in the Mile High after he led them to a postseason victory last season.

The Broncos brass should be working their hardest to move him and a late-round pick in an upcoming draft should be all it takes to pry him away at this point.

For a team that has nothing left to lose like the Jaguars, it just makes sense to “invest” in the local boy who will help them turn a profit and maybe even win a game or two.
