Fantasy Football Playoff Rankings: Wide Receivers (Championship Round)

Just because the regular season in the NFL is over, it doesn't mean you can't play fantasy football. With that in mind, we bring to you the AFC/NFC Championship Round Wide Receiver Rankings.

1. Larry Fitzgerald (Arizona Cardinals) vs. Philadelphia

In this week's Letters to the League, Bruno Boys' guest columnist Daniel Cox stated that Fitzgeralds' patented move appears to be of the "I'm going to jump high between these two defenders and make this grab" variety. And, if you've watched any of the Cardinals' playoff games, you'll have to agree.

No matter how many defenders cover the guy, it seems all Kurt Warner needs to do is throw the ball in his direction and Fitz will come down with it.

His uncanny ability to haul in anything near him has already resulted in 267 receiving yards this post-season, 118 more than the next closest wide out.

Throw in his two TD grabs, and there's no doubt he's been the best wide out this post-season, and we like him to continue to occupy that role.
Point Projection: 16 points

2. Anquan Boldin (Arizona Cardinals) vs. Philadelphia **CHECK STATUS**

Despite his desire to suit up this past Saturday in the Cardinals' Divisional Round match-up with the Carolina Panthers, Boldin was unable to go.

Fortunately for the wide out, his teammates took care of business, providing Boldin another chance to get on the field this season.

Whether that happens or not will depend on Boldin's hamstring, but the wide receiver is once more holding out hope that he'll be able to play come game time.

If he can get on the field, look for Boldin to make up for loss playoff time and make the most of his opportunities, resulting in solid fantasy points.
Point Projection: 13 points

3. DeSean Jackson (Philadelphia Eagles) @ Arizona

The Cardinals defense has been playing out of its mind during the post-season, but you have to believe, sooner or later, that's going to come to an end, and that the defense that allowed 36 passing TDs over the course of the regular season is going to emerge.

With a hot Philadelphia Eagles team coming to town, we can very well see that happening this week. If the Cardinals do indeed fall back to Earth, look for the Eagles rookie to have a hand in it.

Granted, he may have just 115 receiving yards over two post-season games, but he is averaging a very impressive 23.0 yards per reception and has already burned the Cardinals for 76 yards and a score earlier this season.
Point Projection: 12 points

4. Hines Ward (Pittsburgh Steelers) vs. Baltimore

The Baltimore Ravens may have sported the No. 2 pass defense during the regular season, yielding just 179.7 passing yards per game; however, Ward was still able to average a healthy 82 receiving yards against Baltimore in the regular season.

With Ward coming off a solid four-catch and 70-yard performance in the Divisional Round, look for Big Ben to continue to look the veterans way this upcoming weekend.
Point Projection: 8 points

5. Derrick Mason (Baltimore Ravens) @ Pittsburgh 

In discussing Larry Fitzgerald above, we mentioned how the next closest receiver to Fitz's 267 receiving yards was 118 yards behind him.

Well, Mason is that man, and while he may be well short of Fitz's post-season performance, his 149 yards in these playoffs is nothing to be ashamed of, especially considering they've come with Mason nursing a sore shoulder.

Mason had both a strong outing (137 yards in week 4) and a disappointing performance (23 yards in week 15) against the Steelers this season.

This week, we expect him to fall somewhere in the middle of those two numbers. Look for Mason to keep up a solid post-season with an 80 yard effort on Sunday.
