WWE: Does Brodus Clay Deserve a Substantial Match at WrestleMania 28?
As we near WrestleMania 28, the card is starting to fill up. Grudge matches, championship bouts and tag team battles are already scheduled.
Is there room for the Funkasaurus?
To make WrestleMania 28 that much better and to propel Brodus Clay into potential stardom, WWE needs to allow him to wrestle and not in another squash match.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
When Clay returned as the dancing, sassy Funkasaurus, like many fans, I had my doubts. The gimmick seemed too silly.
It certainly could have bombed, but Clay was having fun with it and his exuberance was infectious. Clay's new gimmick is fun and refreshing.
Fans were digging his moves and his one-liners, but WWE failed to capitalize.
We saw several formulaic squash matches and then nothing. After the Royal Rumble, Clay was nowhere to be seen until a recent drubbing of Jinder Mahal.
Letting Clay fade out of the picture now would be a mistake.
Though it may be more difficult to write storylines for an overweight dance-aholic than other more serious characters, it can be done.
Getting him some work at WrestleMania could be the ultimate litmus test. If a hyped Miami WrestleMania crowd can't get pumped for the funky one, then it might be time to move on.
But there's a far better chance that Clay will get people out of their seats and raise the energy level of the whole building.
WWE should have Clay be challenged though and not just run through his opponent. Dancing and catchphrases can only get you so far.
Though he may end up being busy, The Miz doesn't yet have a match. If he's not even enlisted for the 12-man tag match, perhaps he can be the one to challenge and rattle Clay.
Miz could get the upper hand early, working on the big man's knees. When Clay finally mounts his counterattack, fueled by rage and pride, Miz tries to bring in a foreign object and gets disqualified.
If a star of that magnitude is not available, maybe the best route is a handicap match with two low-rung guys facing off against the Suplex Machine.
WrestleMania is the perfect opportunity to see him in more than a one-sided affair.
Clay is and never will be one of the great technicians, but it's clear that he can put on a show.
Clay is potentially one of the more entertaining wrestlers on the roster. He offers a compelling contrast to the generic tough guy in black tights we see far too often.
WWE has had some great wrestlers pass through, but has always been about characters.
Brodus Clay is an attention-grabbing character.
It's likely the fan's adoration of him will fade over time. His gimmick doesn't seem to be the lasting kind, but WWE needs to take advantage of his popularity before it completely shrivels up.
A Brodus Clay match on the WrestleMania card would be a welcome and impactful addition.
