March Madness 2012 Schedule: Sunday's TV Schedule and Live Stream Info

Patrick ClarkeJun 7, 2018

Sunday's slate of third-round matchups will feature not one, but two No. 15 seeds in action. In the West region, No. 15 Norfolk State will take on the No. 7 Florida Gators with a trip to Phoenix, Arizona and the Sweet Sixteen on the line. Less than two hours later, No. 15 Lehigh will face off against No. 10 Xavier in hopes of keeping their Cinderella run alive for another few days as well.

The odds are that at least one of these improbable second-round winners can advance to the next round on Sunday, but hell would sooner freeze over before both Norfolk State and Lehigh crashed the Sweet Sixteen in 2012. That being said, Lehigh has the best chance to win given the two teams' matchups. Florida can use their size or three-point barrage to power past Norfolk State.

A pair of No. 1 seeds will be in action early in the day, as Michigan State and North Carolina are set to roll over No. 9 Saint Louis and No. 8 Creighton respectively. Both top seeds cruised to victories in Saturday's third-round matchups, and Sunday will be no different as the early upsets have awaken the giants.

Sunday's first game will feature No. 11 North Carolina State against No. 3 Georgetown in a tough-to-pick matchup of two complete college basketball teams. Each squad boasts a handful of talented players capable of stealing the show.

The winner will await the victor of No. 2 Kansas vs. No. 10 Purdue. The Boilermakers led No. 7 Saint Mary's by 13 at one point Friday, but KU's Thomas Robinson will be too much in the paint for Purdue to overcome. Robinson posted a double-double (16 points and 13 rebounds) on Friday against No. 16 Detroit.

An unlikely underdog vs. underdog bout will take place in the Midwest region Sunday as well. No. 12 South Florida and No. 13 Ohio will smash even more brackets when they meet in Nashville, Tennessee. USF went 12-6 in the Big East in 2012 and can play crushing defense at times, holding opponents' point totals in the 40s and 50s.

Sunday's final game promises to be the best of the day. No. 3 Florida State will battle No. 6 Cincinnati in a matchup of two scorching-hot teams in the East region. The Seminoles will work the ball in to Bernard James just enough to slide past the Bearcats. James posted 19 points and nine rebounds in FSU's Friday win on 8-of-11 shooting from the field.
