WWE Rumor Killers: Stars Not Signed to WWE as Reported

Justin LaBarJun 2, 2018

It was reported on various sites and written about here that Giant Bernard, known as Prince Albert during the Attitude Era of WWE, has re-signed with WWE.

These reports have been denied by Giant Bernard, real name Matthew Bloom.

Bloom said the following on Twitter:

WRESTLING: OCT 02 AEW Dynamite/Rampage Pittsburgh

"

Haha! False. Wife just had a baby. I'll be on next tour

"

When a fan asked him how the rumor got started, he responded:

"

not sure but it's comical.

"

While any roster additions automatically bring a certain level of intrigue, this move wouldn't make sense for 39-year-old Bloom.

Never more than a midcard role player for WWE, he has found a spot in Japan being one of the top stars for New Japan Pro Wrestling.

This signing would also be questionable as WWE has been focused on signing younger talent that haven't hit their prime. At one point, it was said WWE was only going to sign those under the age of 30. While that rule of age hasn't held entirely true from past signings, they do seem to be geared overall towards acquiring younger talent.

This is the second false alarm signing of the week as it relates to WWE. Earlier this week, it was reported originally by PWTorch.com that Dragon Gate USA star Brodie Lee has signed a developmental deal with WWE.

I had then found out and posted exclusively on Wrestlezone.com that I confirmed Brodie Lee had not signed. Lee may have a signing in his imminent future as he has been on WWE's radar for some time, but as of now, he hasn't put his signature on any WWE contract.

I have worked in a main-event match with Brodie Lee in the past and will say that if and when he does sign with WWE, a man of his size and mobility in the WWE world has great potential.
