I Don't Like To Brag But...I Told You Jack Swagger Would Win the ECW Title!

Recently I wrote an article about Jack Swagger, I told the B/R readers I felt Swagger was one of the best things going in the WWE right now. Particularly in ECW, and he may just be the best out of the ECW rookies this year.

Thankfully he proved me right when he beat Matt Hardy for the ECW Championship last night on ECW. He won in kind of controversial fashion when he electric chair dropped Hardy on an exposed turnbuckle.

Then he did his patented gut wrench powerbomb on Hardy to get the three count. So now we have a new ECW Champion. And he did it in his rookie year, too. Not many WWE Superstars can say they won a World Title their first year on the company.

Some say the ECW is the C-Brand of the WWE, and I agree they do not have the best talent in the WWE. But they keep getting new superstars in, and that makes ECW look better sometimes than the other brands.

I feel they should go back to more extreme matches, but ECW is still an exciting thing to watch because you are seeing the future of the WWE there. Swagger is the crown jewel of the young ECW superstars.

Some may say Evan Bourne is, and other may have different answers. But I feel Swagger is the best thing going, and thankfully the WWE agrees.

The reason I am so high on him is that he brings something to a match not many do. And that is pure wrestling ability. He of course has an amateur background, so he uses it in his matches frequently.

He tends to show something different in his matches every week. Of course we see his finisher every week, but during his matches anything goes. He does not resort to a certain move, because usually all of his moves work for him.

If something does not work well he will try something else. And like many young stars he will do anything to win, which gives him an edge. It just seems he wants it more than anyone in his matches.

Of course Matt Hardy wouldn't lay down for anyone, and he gives it his all every single match he is in. But Swagger out smarted the champion this time. He remembered the exposed turnbuckle and dropped Hardy on it.

That shows ring presence, where he is alert of everything around him. His ability to be smart in the ring, and not get to hasty also is a good edge he has over opponents. I feel he will hold onto the ECW Title for a while.

There is no one on ECW right now that could take him on one-on-one. The only person close would be Mark Henry. He has power and he is much bigger than opponents Swagger has faced during his time in the WWE.

I personally think John Morrison may be a problem, but since he is more in the tag scene I don't see Morrison challenging for the ECW Title any time soon. Although the two I mentioned in Henry and Morrison are former ECW Champions.

Matt Hardy I'm sure will want a rematch so he may be a problem for Swagger, too. But I don't think any of the three will actually win the ECW Title from him.

Am I too high on Swagger? Who do you think will take the ECW Title from him?
