2012 NFL Free Agency Predictions: 7 Teams Still Planning to Make Big Moves

David LevinJun 7, 2018

Free agency isn't over yet, and for many teams the search for players to fill gaps and find the right under-the-radar player isn't complete.

While big names have come and gone, the remaining free agents could be the ones who make the biggest impact on teams.

And with some players still on many teams' radars, it will be the teams in this slideshow that may make a splash in the next few days.

I have always believed it has never been solely about the top players on a team, but the ones who are backups or are not huge marquee names that will make or break a season.

These teams will find middle-of-the-road players and will make them work for their organization.

New England Patriots

1 of 7

Every year, the Patriots do things that defy logic...and simultaneously win.

This year may not be any different. They added help to the defensive line and have added receivers to the mix.

Look for them to seek interior linemen for the offense and maybe a few more defensive weapons before they decide to tackle the draft.

And we all know how good this team is when it comes to drafting players...

Dallas Cowboys

2 of 7

The Dallas Cowboys did their best to find help for the secondary, and they did that with Brandon Carr and Brodney Pool.

But with the loss of Laurent Robinson at receiver, the 'Boys may be looking to add some more speed on the outside.

Jerry Jones has never been someone to sit back and let things come to him, so I expect him to make another move before the free agency period is over.

Cleveland Browns

Frostie Rucker does a lot to help the Browns defensive line, as well as hurt the Cincinnati Bengals in the process. But losing Peyton Hillis will hurt more than most think.

The Browns will probably look to draft Trent Richardson from Alabama with the fourth overall pick in the draft, but they could still use another runner on the roster.

Joseph Addai, Cedric Benson and Ronnie Brown would all look good in Cleveland orange.

San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers went from the NFC Championship Game, to seeing their starting quarterback test the free-agent market, to wanting Peyton Manning to run their offense, to having to woo Alex Smith back.

It has been a busy offseason for the 49ers.

Adding some depth to the offensive line and secondary is important as well.

Jacksonville Jaguars

5 of 7

Everyone was waiting for the "Tim Tebow" moment.

It is not going to happen.

They added a receiver, a backup quarterback and a cornerback. The team still needs a pass rusher (Mark Anderson) and another receiver (Donnie Avery).

Denver Broncos

6 of 7

Now comes the fun stuff. Now that you have Peyton Manning, why not bring in some of his former "friends" to play with?

Denver will need to put more players around him on offense and look to do so through the draft and the end of free agency.

Could there be a reunion of Dallas Clark and Denver? It makes sense and Manning needs a security blanket like that.

This also eases the Broncos' draft strategy, which allows them to pick the best player available.

Seattle Seahawks

7 of 7

Matt Flynn makes this team exponentially better.

This is now a playoff team.

Now, find a supporting cast to help him. The team has a great running game with Marshawn Lynch and now they need more receivers and depth everywhere.

I think this is a sleeper team to make a playoff run next season.
