WWE: 5 Superstars on the Verge of Becoming Irrelevant

John NizinskiJun 5, 2018

The WWE is a tough business to succeed in. It is difficult to get to the top and just as difficult to stay there.

There are times when a push is given to a superstar who doesn't deserve. There are also times when a superstar deserves a push but doesn't get it.

For many, WrestleMania 28 could either be the start of a solid push or getting buried.

Here is a look at some WWE superstars who are on the verge of becoming irrelevant.

Kofi Kingston

1 of 5

Not too long ago, Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne looked like they were going to revive the Tag Team division. Unfortunately, Bourne has been unable to not get suspended and Kingston has suffered.

Kingston has been with the company for a while now and has been stuck in the middle of the roster without a serious push. He has been lost without Bourne.

However, Kingston got a nice pop with his handstand at the Royal Rumble and was a part of the Raw Elimination Chamber.

What's very interesting is that Bourne is being considered for a feud for the U.S. Championship ahead of Kingston. An interesting angle could be a Bourne or Kingston heel turn and them feuding against each other.

Lately, he has slipped back into the mid-card and has not made an impact. The WWE might be dropping the ball with him and the result will be Kingston becoming completely irrelevant.

The Miz

2 of 5

The Miz has not had a direction since "Awesome Truth" had their fallout. A few weeks ago, he botched a move, which could have been very dangerous for R-Truth.

Since then, he has been buried and each week he fails to prove why he deserves a spot at WrestleMania.

After being in the Main Event match of WrestleMania 27, the Miz is on the verge of falling into irrelevancy.

Kelly Kelly

3 of 5

Kelly Kelly was named Diva of the Year in 2011. However, with the minimal time that the Divas division gets and the dominance of Beth Phoenix, Kelly Kelly hasn't made an impact.

She has been limited to just basically modeling and not wrestling. With the Divas division continuing to struggle to receive significant air time, Kelly Kelly is on the verge of becoming irrelevant.

R-Truth

4 of 5

Since his suspension and the split up of "Awesome Truth," R-Truth has yet to make an impact. Similar to Miz, Truth has been without a direction.

It could have been a good idea to put Miz and R-Truth back together, however, R-Truth has become a face. It looks like he will be a part of the 12-man tag team match at WrestleMania 28, but is that really a big deal?

Many have wondered if R-Truth is a main event caliber superstar, but right now it doesn't even matter. R-Truth is 40 years old and could be on the verge of becoming irrelevant.

Mark Henry

5 of 5

Mark Henry recent World Heavyweight Championship run was the best push he ever got in his career. He was a dominant and deserving champion.

However, Henry is on the verge of becoming irrelevant as he comes back down to Earth and moves away from the World Heavyweight title scene. Henry is 40 years old and another strong push may not be in his future.
