March Madness 2012 TV Schedule: Friday Night Games That Will Have You Captivated

Gabe ZaldivarJun 7, 2018

The poor saps that had to work Friday may have found it difficult to watch some amazing games. That is perfectly fine as we have a few night games that will deliver the goods on our way into a magical weekend.

Friday night brings to an end the most magical couple of days for sports fans. By committing to pajamas and beer for two days, we get to see wall-to-wall basketball brilliance.

There is no need to shed a tear because we still have plenty of games to take us into next week. Friday night's complement of clashes will prove to be just what the doctor ordered to bring the opening rounds to a close.

No. 13 Ohio vs. No. 4 Michigan—7:20 p.m. TNT

This may pale in comparison to the epic rivalry that comes with Michigan vs. Ohio State, but there is a ton to like about this grudge match.

The Bobcats come in with little respect despite their stout backcourt play. This includes point guard D.J. Cooper, who is an experienced talent that will keep this game close.

We will be captivated by the possibility of a huge upset.

No. 10 Purdue vs. No. 7 St. Mary's (Ca.)—7:27 p.m. truTV

I hope you have truTV, or can even find it on your dial, because this game will be a close one from start to finish.

Purdue is playing hot ball right now, but St. Mary's may just upset the surging Boilermakers. The Gaels have a good portion of last year's players back and will exude chemistry and maturity. This will be a close one.

No. 10 Xavier vs. no. 7 Notre Dame—9:45 p.m.  CBS

Xavier has a great deal of talent, but has not put it together this season to be considered among the best in the nation.

If they can finally flip the switch, they will be one of the most shocking teams in the tournament with a deep run. Their inconsistency and Notre Dame's depth makes this a great game of note.
