NCAA Tournament 2012 Schedule: TV Schedule for All of Friday's Round 2 Action

Tim DanielsJun 7, 2018

There wasn't a whole lot of madness on the first day of the NCAA tournament, but that's sure to change on Friday as the opening round concludes. So far, 16 teams have advanced to the third round and 16 more will join them with victories today.

Let's take a look at some of the day's best games followed by a complete television schedule for all of the day's March Madness action.

Creighton vs. Alabama (1:40 p.m. on TBS)

Creighton has one of the country's best-kept secrets in Doug McDermott. The sophomore forward is averaging 23 points and eight rebounds while shooting 61 percent from the floor. He can even knock down the outside shot.

The Crimson Tide heavily rely on a terrific defensive approach. JaMychal Green and Tony Mitchell protect the paint, which forces opponents into a lot of jump shots. Alabama needs to get more secondary scoring to be successful, however.

This game is an early candidate to be the first overtime game of the tournament. The contrasting styles will make for a close battle.

Georgetown vs. Belmont (3:10 p.m. on TruTV)

Even though there's been some roster turnover at Georgetown, recent tournament failures have to be weighing on the players' minds heading into today's game. It will be up to senior leader Jason Clark to make sure his teammates don't fall into another trap.

That's easier said than done against an underrated Belmont team. The Bruins have six players averaging more than eight points per game. With that type of offensive balance, the Hoyas defense will be under pressure all afternoon.

Don't be surprised if Belmont ends up giving the tourney its first major upset. There wasn't one yesterday, and it's rare an entire round goes without a shocking result.

Memphis vs. Saint Louis (6:50 p.m. on TBS)

Memphis represents the most dangerous No. 8 seed in quite some time. The Tigers have a go-to scorer in Will Barton, a solid interior defender in Tarik Black and a boatload of depth. They struggle at the free-throw line, which could come back to haunt them in an event with so many close calls.

Saint Louis is no push over, either. The inside-outside duo of Brian Conklin and Kwamain Mitchell carry most of the Billikens' load. If a third contributor can step up to provide some support to the team's two stars, they will be a tough out.

Just like the first two games, this one should come down to the final minutes before a winner is decided. Whichever team survives will be a good test for Michigan State.
