2012 NBA Trade Deadline: Dwight Howard Staying Put, Where Will Deron Williams Go
Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard has decided to stay with his current team, at least for the time being. Howard decided to play out his current contract with the Magic by staying one more year.
Dwight was rumored to be heading to the New Jersey Nets to play alongside Deron Williams, but has now turned his heart back home.
While the decision is great for Howard, Deron Williams now has an important decision to make.
Can the All-Star point guard really go all in with the New Jersey Nets without Superman joining him?
I don't think Williams can.
The Nets boast a very young roster with very few bright spots. Brook Lopez is a great center but has had his problems with injuries.
Avery Johnson is a great coach but has no roster depth to develop or depend on. New Jersey simply isn't that great of a team.
Dwight Howard may have all but guaranteed Deron Williams' exit from New Jersey.
The favorite has to now be Williams' hometown of Dallas. There has been speculation that Williams would love to play for the Mavericks.
Mark Cuban has done his best Pat Riley impersonation by clearing as much cap space as possible. Look for Williams to become a Dallas Maverick next season.
