NFL Rumors: Peyton Manning Cannot Refuse Tennessee Titans' Godfather Offer

Peyton Manning would be crazy not to join the Tennessee Titans as a free agent as soon as possible. They made him an offer he simply cannot refuse.

According to Jim Wyatt at The Tennessean, 89-year-old Titans owner Bud Adams has made it clear that Peyton will be a member of the organization for as long as he lives, if the QB so chooses.

"

“I want him to be with me the rest of his working period of his life, even when he doesn’t want to play anymore,” Adams said. “I want him to come to work for us as long as he lives.”

This means that Manning could play out the rest of his days at the QB position and then slide seamlessly into a front office position with the franchise when his playing days are over.

No other competitive team that has the pieces in place like Tennessee does can offer that. The Broncos, another attractive suitor, already have Hall of Famer and local legend John Elway installed in that position.

The team is making their deal even sweeter by reaching out and signing star offensive lineman Steve Hutchinson. They also already retain an elite RB in Chris Johnson, receiver in Kenny Britt and a solid defense.

The kicker is that they are in the AFC South, a division Peyton has known and dominated for much of his career. (Manning’s first four seasons were spent in the AFC East before realignment in 2002.)

He would be able to get revenge against the Colts twice a year and carve up the familiar defenses of Houston and Jacksonville.

It’s a win-win situation for both parties, and it’s certainly the best landing place for the future Hall of Fame QB.
