Tim Tebow Rumors: Is the Denver Quarterback Tradable?

As of March 11, the Broncos planned to trade quarterback Tim Tebow to another NFL team if they were able to sign Peyton Manning. As the week continues to grow, Tebow’s trade value continues to nose dive. According to Si.com’s Peter King, Tebow’s max trade value stands at a fourth-round pick.

That could go even lower the longer this Manning thing drags on.

Jacksonville seems to be the most logical destination for Tebow, as he played for the Florida Gators and he’s one of the state’s favorite sons. The Jags would sell a few more tickets and could add a new dynamic to their offense.

They just signed former Miami Dolphins quarterback Chad Henne to push current starting quarterback Blaine Gabbert and for good measure, they added wide receiver Laurent Robinson.

So the cabinets aren’t empty for the Jaguars, they just need the right man to lead them.

Can Tim Tebow serve as that leader? If it’s just to sell tickets, the Jaguars should not enter into this thousand dollar sweepstakes. But if the team truly believes that Tebow can push to become the starting quarterback and lead them to success, then a fourth-round pick may be worth the price.

Outside of Jacksonville, there does not seem to be to much chatter regarding Tebow’s services. He led the Broncos to a playoff victory last season and captured the imagination of the city of Denver.

He was lauded as a winner, a man who may not have many technical skills as a quarterback, but just knew how to win football games.

Being a “gamer” may work for a stretch, but one needs something more tangible than just one aspect to compete in the NFL.

As Manning takes his time to make up his mind, Tebow is left to swirl in the wind. However, it makes me wonder. Is the quarterback tradable or will the Broncos have to release him?

In the end, Tebow will probably need a fresh start. The organization does not seem to want to move forward with him as starter and if Manning decides to go elsewhere, how will the team smooth their relationship over with him?
